Optical recording film and process for production thereof

A coated plastic molded article comprising a plastic molded article on the surface of which are laminated (a) a first layer comprising a cured composition containing a partially hydrolyzed product of at least one silicon compound, (b) a second layer comprising a cured, partially hydrolyzed product of a second silicon compound, and (c) a third layer comprising silicon dioxide from an aqueous hydrosilicofluoric acid solution supersaturated with silicon dioxide, the coating layers being applied to the plastic molded article in the order stated; and alternate embodiments of a process for preparing the coated plastic molded articles.

A composition for an optical material, which comprises an N-phenylmaleimide, a di(meth)allyl diphenate and a bisphenol ester. The N-phenylmaleimide, the di(meth)allyl diphenate and the bisphenol ester are contained in amounts of 1 to 50% by weight, 5 to 50% by weight and 1 to 30% by weight, based on the total weight of these components, respectively, The composition affords a three-dimensionally crosslinked resin by radical polymerization. The resin is useful for an optical material.

A light control sheet capable of scattering an incident light of particular incident angle is produced by a method composed of preparing a film of a composition containing at least two photopolymerizable components having different refractive indexes, irradiating on the film a light from a particular direction, and obtaining a cured film of the light control sheet product. Such other light control sheets as capable of scattering a plurality of incident lights each of particular incident angle are obtained by modification of the above-mentioned method.

A laminated structure composed of (A) a layer comprising a polyester resin, (B) a layer comprising a cured (meth)acrylate polymer containing an epoxy group in the molecule, and (C) a layer comprising a cured organopolysiloxane compound, the layers (A), (B) and (C) being laminated in this sequence. The laminated structure is suitable for use in a safety glass, for example.

A plastic multifocal point spherical lens comprising a unitary structure of (A) a first synthetic resin layer having a fixed refractive index, (B) a second synthetic resin layer having a substantially fixed refractive index different from the refractive index of the first synthetic resin layer, and (C) a third synthetic resin layer existing between the first synthetic resin layer and the second synthetic resin layer and having a refractive index gradient varying continuously from the refractive index of the first synthetic resin layer to that of the second synthetic resin layer, part of the second synthetic resin layer and part of the third synthetic resin layer together being recessed into the first synthetic resin layer, and the second synthetic resin layer being thicker at the recessed part than the rest. The lens is prepared by (1) partially polymerizing a first monomer to form a partially polymerized molded mass, (2) applying a second monomer to substantially the entire surface of the partially polymerized molded mass, and (3) after part of the second monomer has diffused into the partially polymerized molded mass, subjecting the entire monomers to polymerization reaction and substantially completing the polymerization.
