A surface planer for planing wooden boards is provided having a motor and an associated rotary cutter head operatively driven thereby in a feed roller positioned adjacent the rotary cutter head for moving wooden boards to the plane relative to the cutter. A multi-stage chain transmission is interposed between the motor and the feed roller; the multi-stage transmission including a dual speed stage is provided with an operator actuated speed selector element which enables the operator to vary the final drive ratio and the resulting speed of the feed roller between a high and low speed.

Multi-speed surface planer and method of manufacture thereof

A portable hand-held apparatus for punching light gauge steel framing studs used in building construction to form holes of sufficient size to allow building wiring and piping to extend therethrough includes a control circuit connected to a limit switch and a main switch, and an output connected to a driving mechanism. The control circuit is configured to selectively operate the driving mechanism in response to assertion of the main switch by the user to drive the punch and die assembly from the deactuated position, over the working cycle, through the actuated position to form the punched hole, and continue to drive the punch and die assembly to the deactuated position to complete the cycle and assert the limit switch. The control circuit halts operation of the driving mechanism in response to assertion of the limit switch.

Apparatus for punching steel studs and control circuit

An apparatus for punching knock-outs out of light gauge steel framing studs used in building construction to form holes of sufficient size to allow building wiring and piping to extend therethrough includes a compact hand held frame ( ) having a generally C-shaped frame portion ( ). Apparatus for punching steel studs

An impact structure for an impact power tool comprises: a hammer body rotatable by means of a driving actuator, and having at least one pawl member having an impact contacting area; and an operation body for rotating a bit for the impact power tool, having at least one wing member having an impact contacting area, which can be brought into contact with the impact contacting area of the pawl member. The operation body is rotated by intermittently hitting the pawl member of the hammer body against the wing member of the operation body in a rotational direction of the hammer body. The impact contacting area of the pawl member can be brought into point-contact or line-contact with the impact contacting area of the wing member.

Impact structure for impact power tool

A power tool comprises an outer casing, a drive motor disposed in the casing for driving a tool member, a drive shaft extending from the drive motor, an electric element of operating the drive motor, a heat radiating block secured to the drive motor, a power control element secured to the heat radiating block for controlling a rotation number of the drive motor, and a mechanism for preventing a rotation of the drive motor in engagement of the heat radiating block with the outer casing. The rotation preventing mechanism comprises an engaging member integrally formed to the heat radiating block and a member formed to the casing to be engageable with the engaging member. The power tool further comprises a speed reduction mechanism connected to the drive motor for reducing the driving speed of the drive motor and a rotation transmitting mechanism operatively connected to the speed reduction mechanism for transmitting the rotation of the drive motor to the tool member. The speed reduction mechanism includes a rotating portion having a pinion and the rotation transmitting mechanism includes a shaft having one end connected to the rotating portion of the speed reduction mechanism and another end connected to the tool member, the one end of the shaft being provided with a hole into which said rotating portion is rotatably inserted.
