A thermal recording medium including a base layer containing a resin having a functional group which chemically bonds with a metal having a low melting point, such as Sn-Pb alloy, and a thermal recording layer made of a thin film with low resistivity of a low melting point metal formed on said base layer such that when a part of the thermal recording layer is heated, the heated part melts and perforates to record information.

A silver oxide cell which comprises a positive electrode comprising a shaped body of silver oxide as a main positive active material, a negative electrode and an alkaline electrolyte, characterized in that the shaped body is a molded product of a composition comprising particles of silver oxide and particles of manganese dioxide, both particles having a certain particle size distribution, so that a detectable voltage difference is produced prior to complete consumption of the discharge capacity of the cell, whereby the termination of the discharge capacity of the cell can be anticipated.

A silver(II) oxide cell which comprises a positive electrode comprising a shaped body of silver(II) oxide as a positive active material, a negative electrode comprising zinc as a negative active material and an alkaline electrolyte, characterized in that the shaped body is a molding product of a composition comprising particles of which each particle comprises a core part of silver(II) oxide and a surface part of silver(I) oxide integrally and continuously provided around the core part, the weight ratio of the silver(II) oxide and the silver(I) oxide being from about 70 : 30 to 90 : 10. Such silver(II) oxide cell has large discharge capacity and shows a flat and even discharge characteristics without any substantial deterioration in performances on storage.
