A horizontal band saw machine includes a pair of jaws, a pair of saw blade wheels, a band saw blade looped over the saw blade wheels, a pair of saw blade guides, a contact guide attached to the other of the pair of jaws, a coupling bracket connected to the other of the pair of saw blade guides to locate a distal end thereof below the other of the pair of saw blade wheels, and a follower member provided at the distal end of the coupling bracket. The contact guide and the coupling bracket are configured to move one of the pair of saw blade guides until the follower member contacts with the contact guide when the band saw blade is fed circularly in a state where the band saw blade is clamped by the one of the pair of saw blade guides.

Horizontal band saw machine

A horizontal band saw machine includes a base, a vertically-movable housing disposed above the base, a pair of wheels that are disposed at a lower portion of the housing and a distance between whose axis lines is changeable, a band saw blade lopped over the pair of wheels, and saw blade guides that are provided on the base. An installation position of the band saw blade is set lower than a cutting end position of a workpiece to be cut by the band saw blade. The housing can move the pair of wheels to the installation position. The pair of wheels can be inserted into an region surrounded by the band saw blade that is set on the saw blade guides when being moved to the installation position with the distance shortened.

Horizontal band saw machine and method for installing band saw blade

A band saw is includes a driving wheel and a driven wheel rotatably provided at a saw housing; an endless saw band made to run around the driving wheel and the driven wheel; and a plurality of saw band guiding devices for directing and guiding cutting edges of the saw band toward a direction of a workpiece to be cut. The saw band guiding devices are constructed to be movable in directions where one of the guiding devices gets closer to and away from another of the guiding devices, wherein each of the saw band guiding devices includes vibrating means for vibrating the saw band in a cutting direction relative to the workpiece. A pressure member holder including a plurality of pressure rollers or a pressure member for pressing a back surface of the saw band is provided in each of the saw band guiding devices.

Band saw

A band saw machine which has an endless band saw blade hung around a driving wheel and a driven wheel rotatably supported by a saw blade housing that is capable of moving vertically. The band saw machine also includes a pair of guide posts for vertically guiding the saw blade housing between the driving wheel and the driven wheel, wherein an upper traveling part of the band saw blade is disposed at one side of the front and rear sides of the guide posts, and a lower traveling part of the band saw blade is disposed at the other side of the front and rear sides of the guide posts.

In a band saw machine in which a pair of guide posts for guiding a saw blade housing that rotatably supports a driving wheel and a driven wheel and can vertically move in the vertical direction are provided between the driving wheel and the driven wheel, an upper traveling part of a band saw blade is disposed in the rear of the guide posts and a lower traveling part of a band saw blade is disposed in front of the guide posts, when the band saw machine is viewed from the side, an intersection point between centers of the both wheels and the center line of the wheel width is almost equal to the width of the guide posts.
