An electrically-powered fishing reel includes a drive motor which rotationally drives a spool, and a speed change unit connected between an output section of the drive motor and a power transmission mechanism which transmits a rotation of the output section to the spool, and provided with a high-speed-driving gear transmission mechanism and a low-speed-driving gear transmission mechanism, and the electrically-powered fishing reel is operative to select, according to the rotating direction of the drive motor, either one of the high-speed-driving gear transmission mechanism or the low-speed-driving gear transmission mechanism and vary the rotational speed of the spool. A high-speed-driving output gear of the high-speed-driving gear transmission mechanism is connected to a power transmission mechanism for the spool without a low-speed-driving output gear of the low-speed-driving gear transmission mechanism being inserted between the high-speed-driving output gear and the power transmission mechanism.

Electric-powered fishing reel

A fishing reel includes: a reel body; a spool rotatably supported by the reel body; a handle shaft rotatably supported by the reel body; a handle arm provided at a distal end of the handle shaft; a transmission mechanism that transmits a rotation of the handle shaft to the spool via a drag device capable of adjusting braking force; and a braking force controlling element rotatably supported by the handle shaft, the braking force controlling element including an adjusting portion for adjusting the braking force applied to the drag device and an operation portion for the adjusting portion. The operation portion radially extends from an axis center of the handle shaft, and includes a bent portion which is formed at an intermediate portion of the operation portion and bent toward the reel body side.

Fishing reel

In a fishing reel, a handle (A) is mounted on a drive shaft of a take-up drive mechanism. The drive shaft is rotatably supported within a reel main body. The handle includes a handle arm, a T-shaped handle knob supported rotatably on one end portion of the handle arm by a support shaft, a balancer consisting of a balance forming member fixed to the other end portion of the handle arm by another support shaft, and a cap mounted on the handle arm. The handle arm includes a linear portion extending from the center portion of the handle arm toward one end portion thereof, a linear portion extending from the center portion of the handle arm toward the other end portion thereof, a bent portion formed such that it is bent outwardly in the axial direction of the drive shaft, and a linear portion extending from the bent portion.

A clutch mechanism of a reel for fishing which can provide a stable winding operation and a comfortable clutch switching operation under a large load. The clutch mechanism is provided between side plates 1a and 1b of a reel main body, and switches a spool between winding and free conditions such that a pinion gear meshing with a drive gear is engaged with and disengaged from a clutch engagement portion rotatable together with the spool with the aid of a clutch plate operable by a switching member. A limiting portion is provided on the switching member to prevent the clutch plate from moving in a direction opposite to the spool at the winding operation.
