A dual type constant velocity universal joint solves the problems of greasing work efficiency and lubricating ability of a double Cardan Joint. The dual type constant velocity universal joint includes two constant velocity universal joints. Each constant velocity universal joint includes: a cylindrical outer ring in which a plurality of guiding grooves that extend in an axial direction are formed on a spherical inner circumferential surface; an inner ring in which a plurality of guiding grooves that extend in an axial direction are formed on a spherical outer circumferential surface; balls for torque transmission each of which is disposed in each of a plurality of ball tracks which are through coordination between the guiding grooves of the outer ring and the guiding grooves of the inner ring; and a cagefor holding the balls. The outer ring are coaxially integrated with back to back, and a place between the outer circumferential surface on the opening side of the outer ring and shafts connected to the inner ring is covered with a boot having a metal ring.

Dual type constant velocity universal joint

A double constant velocity universal joint includes two constant velocity universal joints, each having a cylindrical outer joint member with a plurality of axially extending guide grooves in a spherical inner circumferential surface thereof, an inner joint member with a plurality of axially extending guide grooves formed in a spherical outer circumferential surface, torque transmitting balls each arranged in the ball tracks formed by both guide grooves of the outer joint member and the inner joint member, and a retainer for retaining the balls. The outer joint members are coaxially united back to back, and a cover member having an inner spherical surface that makes sliding contact with the outer circumferential surface of the outer joint member is attached to a shaft that is connected to the inner joint member.

Double constant velocity universal joint

An annular support ringis fitted onto the outer periphery of each trunnion. This support ringand the rollerare unitized via a plurality of needle rollersto constitute a roller assembly capable of relative rotations therebetween. In longitudinal section, each trunnionhas an outer periphery of straight shape, parallel to the axis of the trunnion. In cross section, the trunnionhas a generally ellipse shape with the major axis orthogonal to the axis of the joint. The inner periphery of each support ringis arcuate and convex in section. This combines with the general elliptic cross sections of the trunnionsand the provision of predetermined clearances between the trunnionsand the support rings, to allow the support ringsto move along the axial directions of the trunnionsas well as make tilting movements with respect to the trunnions

Constant velocity universal joint

A wheel bearing assembly is provided which has a rotating speed sensor unit which includes a seal for preventing entry of foreign matter and which takes up little space and thus can be mounted on the wheel bearing assembly without increasing the axial dimension of the fixed member of the wheel bearing assembly. The assembly includes a fixed member fixed to a vehicle body, and a rotary member rotatably supported in the stationary member through a bearing and mounted to a vehicle wheel. An annular sensor is fitted to a knuckle, which is a part of the fixed member, on the inboard side of the bearing. A sensor seal is fitted to the annular sensor and has a seal lip kept in slide contact with a seal land formed on a constant-velocity joint outer ring, which is a part of the rotary member, to define a sealed space on the inboard side of the bearing. An encoder is mounted on a bearing inner ring, which is a part of the rotary member, in the sealed space. The sensor element is disposed in the sealed space, opposite the encoder.

Rotating speed sensor unit and wheel bearing assembly carrying the same

A constant velocity universal joint for use with a propeller shaft which reduces its weight and size as well as facilitates assembling a stub shaft, thereby reducing the number of parts used and improving rotational balance. The universal joint, comprising: an outer ring with a cup-shaped enlarged diameter portion having track grooves formed on an inner peripheral surface and with a hollow reduced diameter portion integrated with the enlarged diameter portion; an inner ring having track grooves formed on an outer peripheral surface; balls, interposed between the track grooves of the inner and outer rings, for transmitting torque; a cage, accommodated in an annular space between the inner and outer rings, for holding the balls. The universal joint makes possible to form a unit provided with a stub shaft, having a shaft portion inserted from an open end portion of the enlarged diameter portion of the outer ring to mate with the inner ring to enable torque transmission and having an enlarged diameter portion on an end portion extending from the shaft portion, and provided with a boot, attached to the open end portion of the enlarged diameter portion of the outer ring and the shaft portion of the stub shaft, for sealing the joint.

Constant velocity universal joint for propeller shaft

An annular support ring is fitted onto the outer periphery of each trunnion . A wheel bearing device comprises a rotor having a double row of raceway surfaces and having a wheel fixed thereto, an outer ring having a double row of raceway surfaces and a flange to be fixed to a knuckle disposed on the car body side, and a double row of rolling bodies interposed between the respective raceway surfaces of the rotor and outer ring. A pulser ring is disposed between the double row of raceway surfaces of the rotor, and a sensor opposed to the pulser ring is held by a holding member held between the flange of the outer ring and the knuckle, whereby the sensor can be disposed in the bearing inner space.

The present invention relates to a constant velocity joint used in power transmission shafts for automobiles and the like, wherein a slight pocket clearance is defined between each torque transmitting ball and a ball pocket, while relative axial movement of an inner member and a cage is allowed, thereby ensuring smooth rolling of balls. During axial displacement, the outer surface of the inner member makes angular contact with the inner surface of the cage always at a constant position, thereby reducing the internal slide resistance between the members.
