Provided is a support device that supports easier data exchange between PLCs without relying on a type of a PLC of the other communication party. The support device includes: a first input unit for receiving information defining, on a data-by-data basis, variables for data handled by the first programmable logic controller; a second input unit for receiving a source program expressing processing executed on the first programmable logic controller using the defined variables; a third input unit for receiving information that identifies a type of a second programmable logic controller in association with a first variable; and a generation unit that generates the executable program using the information defining the variables and the source program. The generation unit adapts a data structure of first data secured in the memory in correspondence with the first variable in accordance with the type of the second programmable logic controller.

Support device, recording medium, and method for facilitating data exchange between different types of progrrammable logic controllers

A programmable controller system, a tool device, a tool program, a storage medium, and a programmable controller capable of affording greater convenience in terms of preventing unauthorized use of user program running on the programmable controller. In the programmable controller system, the tool device sets up a first user program execution ID in a second non-volatile memory provided in the PLC and sets up a second user program execution ID in a project provided in the tool device. The PLC performs a matching operation to determine whether or not the first user program execution ID matches the second user program execution ID and blocks the execution of the user program if there is a mismatch.

The value of fixed cycle time is adjusted to an optimum value in a short period of time. In a second operational mode (MON) of a PLC, a series of a plurality of system processes are repeatedly performed with a change to a user program in a peripheral service process being allowed. A change to fixed cycle time to be compared with actual cycle time is prohibited in a first operational mode (RUN) but is allowed in the second operational mode (MON) and a non-operational mode (PRG).

Programmable controller

A unit for a programmable controller includes a user program memory storing a user program to be read out for carrying out a calculation process and a backup memory storing data with the same contents as the user program stored in the user program memory. An abnormality detector is provided for detecting a memory abnormality by comparing user data stored in the user memory and the backup memory while the programmable controller is operated. If a memory abnormality is detected, a restoration device repairs the data at the position where the abnormality was detected with the data at the corresponding position of the backup memory and the cyclic operation of the programmable controller is continued thereafter.

Programmable controller unit and method of automatically restoring memory

A control system includes a programmable controller having a CPU unit that carries out cyclic operations of processes. An additional temporary user memory is provided in addition to a regular user memory. When an on-line editing of a user program is to be carried out, the program is stored in both memories and the program stored in the temporary memory is called by an instruction execution engine to be executed. After the on-line editing is completed on the user program stored in the user memory, the program execution is based on the edited user program stored in the user memory.
