Provided is a reliable switch having a contact surface that is prevented from being roughened. To solve the problem, there is provided a switch including a plurality of switching unitsandeach including a fixed electrode and a movable electrode that is disposed to be opposed to the fixed electrode and is closed or opened with respect to the fixed electrode, the switch being characterized in that the switching unitsandeach make or break a current to be applied to the switch, the switching unitsandare electrically connected in series to each other, and the switching unitsandare each configured such that a first switching unitis first closed, and then a second switching unitis closed.

The invention has an object to provide an operating device or vacuum switch which permits reduction in the overall height of the operating device and improves installation convenience. In order to solve the above problem, an operating device according to the present invention is characterized by including an electromagnetlocated in a caseand fixed to the casethrough a fixing part, a capacitorlocated at an end in the case, a control boardlocated opposite to the capacitoracross the electromagnet, an auxiliary contactlocated above the capacitor, a movable part to move by a magnetic force generated from the electromagnet, and a power transmission section to operate in conjunction with movement of the movable part. Operating device or vacuum switch

An actuator for a contactor comprises an electromagnet having a closing coil, a holding coil, fixed cores wound with the closing coil and the holding coil respectively, a movable core provided on one side of the fixed cores, and a yoke. A main contact movable member operates to perform closing or interrupting by attraction or release of the movable core with respect to the fixed core. The actuator has a trip spring, energy-stored during the closing, that performs the interrupting upon stopping energization to the holding coil and thereby releasing the stored-energy. The actuator has an auxiliary contact operating with the operation of the movable core and performing energization switching with respect to the closing coil and the holding coil. The trip spring is provided on one side of the electromagnet in a horizontal direction while the auxiliary contact is provided on the other side.
