[Problems] Provided is a discoloring body which is discolored by application of water and has high glossiness and is excellent in applicability to various fields such as a toy field, a decoration field, and a design field. [Solution] A discoloring body including a supporting body, a porous layer in which a low refractive index pigment is fixed in a dispersed state by way of a binder resin, and a glossy resin layer, in which an occupancy area ratio of the glossy resin layer is 1% to 95% with respect to a 1 cm square at any position in the porous layer.

A writing instrument for a water-metachromatic member has a cylindrical container capable of holding water, formed with an opening at a tip end thereof to communicate the interior of the container with the exterior thereof, a hollow cylindrical holder which directly holds a pen point member, being formed at a tip end with an opening through which the tip end of said pen point member is projected outwardly and at a rear end with a communication hole, and a gap provided between an inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical holder and an outer peripheral surface of the rod-like body to form a gap for generating a capillary force therebetween. When the holder is held to the container, water is supplied through said communication hole to said pen point member. When the holder is detached from the container, the opening of the container is usable for water supply.

A water-metachromatic sheet has a support with a porous layer containing a binder resin with dispersed fine-particle silicic acid. The sheet is capable of rendering different transparency between water absorbed and unabsorbed states. The support is a cloth having a weight per unit area of 30 gmto 1,000 gm, the fine-particle silicic acid is contained in an amount of from 1 gmto 30 gm, and the fine-particle silicic acid is incorporated in an amount from 0.5 to 2 parts by weight based on 1 part by weight of the binder resin.

Reversible thermochromic composition having improved light-fastness and product comprising same

A color-change laminate comprising a substrate and formed thereon a porous layer which comprises a low-refractive-index pigment dispersed in a binder resin and tenaciously adherent thereto is disclosed. The porous layer becomes transparent or translucent upon absorption of a liquid medium, e.g., water to give a variety of visual changes. The low-refractive-index pigment contains at least a finely particulate silicic acid produced by the wet process. Toy sets consisting of the above color-change laminates with dolls or toy animals and toy sets consisting of the above color-change laminates with a means of water adhesion are also provided.
