A multilayer circuit board having a signal and power isolation circuit, which can suppress the capacitive coupling between a chip inductor and a ground layer below the chip inductor and also suppress the characteristic impedance change occurring in a mounting pad on a microstrip line. Portions of the inner-layer ground below both the mounting pad on the microstrip line and the chip inductors connected to the mounting pad are separately removed respectively as the signal transmission characteristic compensation removal portion, which is formed by removing a portion having a predetermined area and situated immediately below the mounting pad, and the inductor characteristic compensation removal portion, which is formed by removing a mounting-surface-below portion having a predetermined area and situated immediately below the chip inductors. The signal transmission characteristic compensation removal portion and the inductor characteristic compensation removal portion are electrically isolated from each other with the predetermined distance therebetween.

A coil component includes a drum-shaped core that includes a flange portion, a metal terminal that is mounted on the flange portion and that is formed from a metal plate, and an adhesive layer that contacts both a rising portion of the metal terminal and a rising surface of the flange portion. A method of manufacturing a coil component includes preparing a wire that includes a linear, central conductor and an insulating coating that covers a circumferential surface of the central conductor, preparing a metal terminal that is to be electrically connected to the central conductor at an end portion of the wire and that has a surface on which a tin-containing film that contains tin is disposed and above which at least the end portion of the wire is to be disposed, and welding the central conductor of the wire to the metal terminal by irradiating at least the tin-containing film with a laser beam with the end portion of the wire disposed along the tin-containing film.

Method of manufacturing a coil component

A coil component includes a drum core that includes a winding core portion and a pair of flange portions formed at the ends of the winding core portion, electrodes that are included in the pair of flange portions, and first and second wires that are wound around the winding core portion and that include extended portions electrically connected to the electrodes. The flange portions are continuous with the winding core portion and have slopes that guide the extended portions to the electrodes.

Common-mode choke coil

A coil component includes a core including a winding core portion, a first wire, a second wire, a third wire, and a fourth wire that are wound around the winding core portion. A winding portion is formed by winding the respective first to fourth wires around the winding core portion. The winding portion includes a twisted wire portion in which the first wire, the second wire, the third wire, and the fourth wire are collectively twisted.

A method for manufacturing a coil component includes preparing a wire; preparing a terminal electrode formed from a metal plate having a flat surface to which an end portion of the wire is to be connected, a low surface that is lower in a thickness direction of the terminal electrode than the flat surface, and a shift surface that connects the flat surface to the low surface and that increases a height in the thickness direction from the low surface to the flat surface; placing the end portion of the wire on the flat surface such that the wire is provided sequentially along the flat surface, the shift surface, and the low surface in this order from the end portion thereof; and thermally pressure-bonding the end portion of the wire to the flat surface such that the heated chip is pressed so that an edge thereof overlaps the low surface.

Coil component manufacturing method

A connection section of a terminal electrode includes a reference surface, and an end portion of a wire and the connection section of the terminal electrode are connected to each other via a weld lump rising from the reference surface. A cover section to regulate an upper limit of the rise of the wire from the reference surface is provided in the terminal electrode. The cover section is so positioned as to cover at least part of the wire when viewed in a direction perpendicular to a direction in which the reference surface extends.

A coil component includes a blocking material that contains a resin and that blocks a route that leads to a gap between turns of a wire from an outside at portions of the wire that are in close contact with each other between adjoining turns.

A coil component includes a wire; a core having a winding core around which the wire is wound and a flange portion provided at an end portion of the winding core in an axial direction; and a terminal electrode to which the wire is connected and that is provided on the flange portion. The terminal electrode has a projecting portion that sticks out in the axial direction relative to the flange portion. The projecting portion has a flat surface along which the wire is thermocompression-bonded. Thermocompression bonding of the wire is performed in a state where an interval between a head surface of a heater chip and the flat surface becomes narrower from a flange portion side toward a front end side of the projecting portion. A degree of crushing of the wire decreases from the front end side toward the flange portion side of the projecting portion.

Coil component and method for manufacturing the same

A direct-current superimposing circuit includes differential signal lines, capacitors, a common mode choke coil, a winding-type coil component, and a DC power supply which are disposed at a circuit board. The winding-type coil component includes a core, two pairs of terminal electrodes, and two windings (a first winding and a second winding). On the end surface of a flange portion, the terminal electrodes in one of the two pairs and the terminal electrodes in the other one of the two pairs are placed to face each other across the winding center of a winding core. The winding start and winding end of the first winding are connected to the terminal electrodes in one of the two pairs. The winding start and winding end of the second winding are connected to the terminal electrodes in the other one of the two pairs.

Winding-type coil component and direct-current superimposing circuit using the same

A coil component includes first and second wires wound around a winding core portion of a core, and third and fourth wires wound around outside a portion of the first and the second wires wound around the winding core portion in an opposite direction to a winding direction of the first and second wires. The portion of the first and second wires wound around the winding core portion has a first twisted wire portion twisted together. A length of the first wire or a length of the second wire of the portion of the first and second wires wound around the winding core portion is configured to be equal to a length of the third wire or a length of the fourth wire of the portion of the third and fourth wires wound around outside the portion of the first and second wires wound around the winding core portion.

A coil component includes a first alignment winding region in which a second wire is continuously wound so as to have turns such that the turns of the second wire are aligned with turns of a first wire having the same ordinal number outside the first wire in a direction perpendicular to a central axis. The ordinal number is counted from the turn nearest to the first flange portion.

In a coil component, a plate-shaped core is fixed to first and second flanges of a drum-shaped core with an adhesive interposed therebetween in a state that a lower principal surface of the plate-shaped core faces top surfaces of the first and second flanges. The adhesive is made of a hardened epoxy-based resin containing dicyandiamide.
