An electric compressor includes: a compression mechanism; a motor mechanism; an inverter; a housing accommodating the compression mechanism, the motor mechanism, and the inverter; and a power supplier. The power supplier includes a connector and a cable extending toward an outside of the housing. The connector includes a first protrusion extending toward the outside of the housing. The first protrusion includes an end surface that has an insertion hole into which the cable is inserted, and a side surface that cylindrically extends and is connected to the end surface. A second protrusion is formed integrally with the side surface and extends downward from the side surface in a gravity direction corresponding to a direction in which the gravity is applied to the housing. A water droplet having reached the insertion hole along the cable is guided from the insertion hole to the second protrusion along the end surface.

Electric compressor

An electric compressor includes a housing and a cover. The housing accommodates a compression portion and an electric motor. The cover is attached to an outer surface of the housing and cooperates with the outer surface of the housing to define an accommodation space. An inverter is accommodated in the accommodation space and configured to drive the electric motor. The inverter includes a circuit board, an electrolytic capacitor, and a capacitor cover at least partly covering the electrolytic capacitor. The electrolytic capacitor includes a cylindrical main body having a first end and a second end, a lead extending from the first end of the main body and connected to the circuit board, and a pressure relief vent on the second end of the main body. The capacitor cover is interposed between the circuit board and a peripheral edge of the second end of the electrolytic capacitor.

An electrically-driven compressor including a housing, an electric motor, a compression mechanism, a cover member, a motor drive circuit, and a sealing member is disclosed. The electric motor is accommodated in the housing. The compression mechanism is accommodated in the housing and operated by the electric motor. The cover member is attached to the housing. The housing and the cover member form an accommodation portion including an accommodation space therein. The motor drive circuit is accommodated in the accommodation space and drives the electric motor. The sealing member is arranged between the housing and the cover member to seal the accommodation space. The sealing member includes an elastic seal portion that comes into close contact with the housing and the cover member. A core sustains the shape of the seal portion in conformance with the circumferential edge of the accommodation space. The core is formed so that at least a circumferential edge part of the core is in conformance with the circumferential edge of the accommodation space. The seal portion is formed integrally with the circumferential edge part of the shape sustaining member by depositing rubber material thereon.

Electrically-driven compressor

A motor-driven compressor that includes a compression unit adapted to compress refrigerant, an electric motor adapted to drive the compression unit, and a housing that accommodates the compression unit and the electric motor. The housing includes a coupling member. A motor driving circuit is adapted to drive the electric motor. The motor driving circuit includes a circuit board and a capacitor, which is electrically connected to the circuit board. The capacitor includes a side surface and an end surface that faces the coupling member. A resin material is located between the coupling member and the capacitor. The coupling member includes a facing surface that faces the capacitor. The facing surface includes a recess extending away from the capacitor. The recess receives some of the resin material.

Motor-driven compressor

An electric compressor includes a housing a compression mechanism, an electric motor and a motor driving circuit. The motor driving circuit includes a circuit board and an electronic component mounted on the circuit board. The electric compressor further includes a bus bar, a shield plate having a bolt hole and an intervening portion interposed between the bus bar and the shield plate. The bus bar, intervening portion and the shield plate are integrated by a resin member. A part of the intervening portion on a side thereof opposite from the shield plate and/or a part of the bus bar on a side thereof opposite from the shield plate is exposed without being covered with the resin member. A surface of the shield plate around the bolt hole on a side thereof opposite from the intervening portion is exposed without being covered with the resin member.

Electric compressor with component for blocking electromagnetic noise

An electric compressor is provided to more securely suppress breakage of an electric component. An inverter cover forms an accommodation space. A bus bar constituting a portion of an electric circuit for driving an electric motor is accommodated in the accommodation space. The inverter cover has a rib projecting into the accommodation space. The bus bar is placed on the rib.

A motor-driven compressor that includes a compression unit adapted to compress refrigerant, an electric motor adapted to drive the compression unit, and a housing that accommodates the compression unit and the electric motor and includes a coupling member. A motor driving circuit drives the electric motor. The motor driving circuit includes a circuit board and a capacitor, which is electrically connected to the circuit board. A capacitor holder holds the capacitor and is coupled to the coupling member. One of the capacitor holder and the coupling member includes a projection, and the other one of the capacitor holder and the coupling member includes an engagement portion that engages with the projection. Engagement between the projection and the engagement portion positions the capacitor holder relative to the coupling member.

Motor driven compressor

A motor-driven compressor includes a compression unit, an electric motor, a housing that includes an accommodating chamber and a wiring connection port, a motor driving circuit that includes a substrate arranged in the accommodating chamber, wiring electrically connected to the substrate and extending out of the housing through the wiring connection port, and a resin sealing member fitted to the wiring connection port. The wiring includes a primary conductor, which has a first end connected to the substrate and a second end, and a secondary conductor, which is connected to the second end of the primary conductor and arranged outside the housing. The secondary conductor includes a wire portion and a sheath that is made of an insulating material and covers the wire portion. The sealing member covers the sheath and a junction between the primary conductor and the secondary conductor.

A motor-driven compressor includes a shell, an electric motor, a first conductor electrically connected to an external power source, a second conductor electrically connected to the electric motor, a connector connecting the first conductor and the second conductor and a connector case. The connector case has a first case member, a second case member, a first and a second seal members interposed between the first and the second case members, a hole through which the first conductor is inserted and a third seal member sealing between the first conductor and the connector case. A first main seal of the first seal member and a second main seal of the second seal member cooperate to form a cylindrical seal portion for sealing the second conductor that is inserted through the cylindrical seal portion when the first and the second seal members are joined.

A motor-driven compressor includes a compression mechanism, an electric motor, a compressor housing, a conductive member, a terminal base, an insulating member, a connection terminal, a wire assembly, a terminal housing, first and second holes formed through the terminal housing and first and second seal members. The conductive member extends from the inside to the outside of the compressor housing and connected electrically to the connection terminal at a terminal connection. The wire assembly has a core wire connecting electrically between the connecting terminal and the electric motor, and an insulator covering the core wire. The terminal housing disposed in the compressor housing covers the terminal connection. The wire assembly has an insulating tube covering the insulator, wherein both ends of the insulating tube are opened for communicating with the inside and the outside of the terminal housing through a clearance formed between the insulating tube and the insulator.

A shielded cable has a cable body providing an electromagnetic shielding portion around a conductive wire thereof, a connector fitted to one end of the cable body and having a casing including a conducting portion, and an electromagnetic shielding portion of the cable body conducted with the conducting portion of the casing in the connector. The shield conducting portion is provided on the conducting portion and includes first and second conducting members, which are located outside the electromagnetic shielding portion by being press-fitted into the casing for pressing the electromagnetic shielding portion in different directions, respectively. At least one of the first and second conducting members is made of a conductive material. The cable body is held by the first and second conducting members, so that the electromagnetic shielding portion is conducted with the conducting portion of the casing through the conducting member made of a conductive material.
