A coaxial element wire includes a center conductor, an insulation layer, and an outer conductor. The insulation layer is provided around the center conductor, and it has a thickness of 0.15 mm or less. The outer conductor is a ribbon-shaped conductor obtained by pressing a copper or copper alloy round wire into a flat form, without annealing after pressing. This ribbon-shaped conductor is spirally wrapped around the insulation layer to thereby form the coaxial element wire. The coaxial element wire may be covered with a protective jacket, and plural coaxial wire elements may be joined into a common jacket to form a multicore cable.

Coaxial cables, multicore cables, and electronic apparatuses using such cables

An electric wire work is produced in the following manner. That is, a combination of a plurality of coaxial cables are cut to a predetermined length. External conductors are exposed in the vicinity of the ends thereof. The external conductors is fixed at a predetermined pitch with a ground bar. Insulators are exposed outside the ground bar. The plurality of insulated cores are fixed at a predetermined pitch with a plastic tape. Then, the insulator layers are shifted together with the plastic tape at a point between the ground bar and the plastic tape so that core conductors 7 are exposed.

Method for producing terminal wire connection

A process for producing an insulated electric wire, comprising the steps of coating around a conductor an energy radiation curable resin composition having heat expansible microspheres incorporated therein, and curing the energy radiation curable resin composition thus coating on the conductor by exposure to an energy radiation. The process also comprises the step of heating the energy radiation curable resin composition to expand the heat expansible microspheres in the energy radiation curable resin composition, thereby forming a high-porosity insulation layer on the conductor. An insulated electric wire comprises a conductor; an energy radiation curable resin composition layer having microspheres incorporated therein and surrounding the conductor, the outside diameter of the microspheres in the energy radiation curable resin composition layer being maximum in the vicinity of the conductor and decreasing gradually toward the periphery of the energy radiation curable resin composition layer.

Insulated electric wire

Insulated electric wire and process for producing the same

This invention relates to a novel coating structure composed of a mixture of an energy irradiation curable resin composition and microspheres, which is used to form a thinfilm coating on a small diameter conductor, thus producing an insulated conductor which has low capacitance obtained in spite of the thin-film coating, has very little variation in capacitance due to the manufacturing process, has a smooth coating layer, and can be manufactured quickly.

Insulated conductor and method of producing the same

Pliable high-strength conductors for use in electronic instruments involving frequent movements, such as robots. They comprise a core layer of austenitic stainless steel and a covering layer of copper, or its alloy. Higher resistance to flexing fatigue is ensured by the addition of stainless steel as a core. An austenitic stainless steel wire having a specific diameter is employed and the percentage of sectional area of the covering layer to the total sectional area is specified.

High-strength conductors and process for manufacturing same

A shielded electric wire having an electric conductor, a high expansion insulating layer provided on the electric conductor, a rigid skin layer on the insulating layer, and a closed shield layer on the skin layer. The closed shield layer is produced by winding a number of electric wires on the insulating layer at a winding angle of 80.degree.-85.degree. from the normal to the longitudinal axis of the conductor. This electric wire is free from changes in its characteristics even if the degree of expansion of the insulating layer is as high as 65% or more and thus is suitable for use in wiring electronic devices such as computers.

Shielded electric wires

An optical composite cable having an outer sheath comprising a radiation cured copolymer of ethylene and vinyl acetate containing 50-85% by weight of vinyl acetate having intimately admixed therewith a flame retarding and smoke suppressing amount of a finely divided filler mixture consisting essentially of a first filler selected from hydroxides and carbonates of di- and tri-valent metals and a second filler which is zinc borate.

Flame retardant optical composite cable

A shielded wire having a central core and an insulation layer coated thereover. A shield layer separates the insulation layer from a ground wire and is formed by a composite tape having a metal surface and an adhesive surface. The metal surface is longitudinally folded to cover a portion of the adhesive surface and the tape is helically wound with the folded surface on the outside to form alternate helical patterns of the metal and adhesion layers. A sheath covers the shield layer and the ground wire and is bonded to the adhesive layer while the ground wire is in contact with the outside metal layer. The inside metal surface forms the shield.
