A transparent resin plate includes a plurality of slits formed intermittently and located along the border line between a housing frame portion and a light conductor plate portion, the slits includes either or both of respective first optical path converting portions and a second optical path converting portion, and flap portions of a reflector are inserted at least in the first optical path converting portions. Also, the second optical path converting portion of the plurality of slits is arranged to meet at least part of optical paths of hypothetical optical paths which are emitted forward from a light source in the forward direction, reach directly the housing frame portion and which do not cross the first optical path converting portion.

A spread illuminating apparatus includes an LED, a transparent resin plate and a light reflecting sheet, wherein the transparent resin plate includes slits adapted to have inserted therein flap portions of the light reflecting sheet, and wherein an adhesive tape with flexibility is placed along at least one flap portion of the light reflecting sheet so as to cover at least one slit of the transparent resin plate, whereby the light reflecting sheet is prevented from warping or undulating in spite of difference in thermal expansion coefficient between the materials of the transparent resin plate and the light reflecting sheet, and also whereby light emitted from the LED and traveling in the transparent resin plate is totally reflected by the flap portions and therefore prevented from leaking from the outer side surfaces of the transparent resin plate.

A method of manufacturing magnetic head slider including a ferrite core having read/write gap and a housing formed on non-magnetic material having a rail on a surface opposite to a magnetic recording medium. The ferrite core and the housing are bonded to each other. A core bond bar constituted by a continuation at least two cores and a stick-shaped for the housing are bonded to each other ten fine machined. After the fine machining, the bar is cut into individual magnetic head sliders.

At the time of extracting of the die after molding the slider , the concentration of the internal stress to the radius curvature portion is avoided, and the generation of the defects such as lacking and cracking are controlled to increase the reliability, reduce the defective rate of the product, to increase the productivity and to realize the cost down.

A floating magnetic head comprising a substantially rectangular slider made of a non-magnetic substance and having leading and trailing ends. The slider is provided with a groove which gradually increases in depth along one side of the slider extending toward the trailing end and has an opening at the trailing end. The slider has rails mounted on a surface of the slider that is opposite to a magnetic recording medium to produce a floating force. A magnetic head core is bonded to one side of the slider. The core has a read/write gap, first and second legs, an inclined face opposite to the bonding surface, and a track width on the surface opposite to the magnetic recording medium. The second leg is located at the trailing end of the slider without protruding from the trailing end.

A magnetic head slider including two housing portions made of non-magnetic material, each portion having a rail on a surface thereof to face a magnetic recording medium and generate a floating force. Hybrid type magnetic head slider having a thin film coil

A method of manufacturing a hybrid type magnetic head slider using a thin film coil in which a number of cores can be manufactured in the sane condition, and improvement and uniformity in yield and performance can be expected. A conductor pattern forming a plurality of thin film coils (2b) and a magnetic material (magnetic cores 2a) passing in the thin film coils are formed on a nonmagnetic base (1) by means of spattering or the like, and grooves (15) for bonding a plurality of ferrite made head cores (13) are formed on a different nonmagnetic base (14). The ferrite made head cores, which are bonded by glass thin films with a fixed gap, are bonded after polished into the outer dimension fitted to the grooves. A thin film coil stick (4) having the thin film coils formed thereon and a head core base (16) having the head cores bonded thereto are combined and bonded together to form a magnetic head slider bond bar (20), which is then cut and subjected to a polishing, whereby a magnetic head slider is completed reducing manual work.

Method and manufacturing a hybrid type magnetic head slider using a thin

The pattern of wiring 11 itself has an elasticity. That is, the pattern of wiring 11 as an electric signal exchanging means functions also as a load giving means. Accordingly, comparing the case where the electric signal exchanging means and the load giving means are separated, the number of the parts can be reduced. And, since the process of assembling conventional every part can be reduced, deletion of the number of processes can be carried out. In addition, a snapping of a wire during assembling is avoided and prevented a product from being deteriorated.

Suspension for a magnetic head

A floating magnetic head including a spacer, made from a nonmagnetic substance and which is equal or longer than a head core, is interposed between a slider made from a magnetic substance and the head core. In an alternative embodiment, a part of the slider is made from a nonmagnetic substance and the head core is secured thereon, and coils are wound in opposite senses around core legs of the head core. The present invention shields a noise of an external magnetic field with the slider and improves a recording performance because the slider is isolated magnetically and a magnetic resistance of the slider becomes smaller than that of the head core.

Floating magnetic head

A floating magnetic head comprising a slider and a head core integral with the slider. The slider is made of a nonmagnetic material such as barium titanate or calcium titanate. The slider has rails on its surface opposite to a magnetic recording medium to produce a floating force. The head core has a read/write gap. The head core is equipped with a winding. The core is disposed on the outside of the slider and has a tapering thickness.

Floating magnetic head slider

There is disclosed a magnetic head which can be used for various magnetic disk drives and easily and economically fabricated. The head comprises a magnetic core consisting of a ferrite. The core is composed of two parts bonded together with a glass. A gap, a magnetic metal film, and an intermediate film are formed between the two parts of the core. The intermediate film is formed of the same glass as said glass by sputtering and has a thickness between 30 and 150 .ANG.. The metal film has a thickness between 1 and 10 .mu.m. The glass consists mainly of SiO.sub.2, for example.
