An organohydrogenpolysiloxane comprising at least two structural units of &#x2014;(HRSiO)&#x2014; wherein Ris a monovalent hydrocarbon group, and a is an integer of 2-50, which are connected together via a SiH-free structural unit, is a novel crosslinking agent. A silicone composition comprising an alkenyl-containing organopolysiloxane, the organohydrogenpolysiloxane, and a catalyst is curable through addition reaction, adherent to plastic substrates, and useful for coating purposes.

An organohydrogenpolysiloxane comprising at least two structural units of &#x2014;(HRSiO)&#x2014; wherein Ris a monovalent hydrocarbon group, and a is an integer of 2-50, which are connected together via a SiH-free structural unit, is a novel crosslinking agent. A silicone composition comprising an alkenyl-containing organopolysiloxane, the organohydrogen-polysiloxane, and a catalyst is curable through addition reaction, adherent to plastic substrates, and useful for coating purposes.

An ultraviolet-curable silicone composition for a release paper including (A) 100 parts by mass of a specific organopolysiloxane having a polymerization degree of 8 to 20 and containing one epoxy group, and (C) an effective quantity of an onium salt photoinitiator. In a preferred embodiment, the composition further includes (B) 10 to 1,000 parts by mass of at least one specific organopolysiloxane containing a plurality of epoxy groups. In another preferred embodiment, the composition has a viscosity of not more than 100 mPa&#xb7;s. The composition has a peel strength that exhibits a positive dependency on the peel speed when peeled from a hot-melt pressure-sensitive adhesive, and can therefore be used to produce a release paper capable of reducing peeling noise. Further, because the composition has a low viscosity, it exhibits excellent wetting of substrates having significant unevenness, even in a solventless form.

An additive for imparting flame retardancy with an organic resin is provided. This additive does not use environmentally harmful halogen or phosphorus flame retardant which also adversely affects the performance of the product, and this additive satisfies severe flame retardancy requirements at the level equivalent to those employing such flame retardants. Also provided are a flame retardant polycarbonate resin composition adapted for use in producing a product having excellent mechanical properties, moldability, and outer appearance as well as an article molded therefrom. A curing composition comprising (A) a silane compound having formula: RSi(OR)wherein Ris C&#x2013;Calkyl, C&#x2013;Calkenyl or phenyl, and Ris C&#x2013;Calkyl, C&#x2013;Cacyl or C&#x2013;Calkoxyalkyl and (B) phosphoric acid is added to an organosilicon compound to formulate a silicone-base coating composition which remains shelf stable and quickly cures at room temperature after being applied to a substrate, to form a cured coating having transparency, surface hardness, adhesion and the like. A silicone-base coating composition having the curing composition formulated therein is effective as a solventless, RTV silicone coating composition of one part type.

Organosilicon compound-curing composition and silicone-base coating composition

An addition curing type silicone resin composition is provided including (A) 100 parts by weight of a specific organopolysiloxane with a phenyl group and at least two alkenyl groups within each molecule, (B) 1 to 100 parts by weight of a specific organohydrogenpolysiloxane with a phenyl group and at least two SiH groups within each molecule, and (C) an effective quantity of a hydrosilylation reaction catalyst. A cured product obtained by curing this composition is transparent, displays good strength and particularly good flexural strength, and moreover also displays a high degree of hardness. The composition is applicable to a variety of fields including electrical and electronic equipment, OA equipment and precision instruments.

Flame retardant aromatic polycarbonate resin composition and molded articles thereof

A flame retardant resin composition is provided comprising (A) 100 pbw of a resin comprising 10-100% by weight of an aromatic polycarbonate resin and 90-0% by weight of another thermoplastic resin, (B) 0.1-9.9 pbw of an organopolysiloxane containing silicon atom-bonded phenyl groups, and (C) 0.1-9.9 pbw of an organopolysiloxane containing silicon atom-bonded methyl groups and Si&mdash;H groups and free of an aromatic hydrocarbon group. The composition has satisfactory flame retardant effects and safety and minimal environmental load features, and molded articles can be effectively produced therefrom.

Flame retardant resin compositions and molded articles

A polyorganosiloxane compound obtained by allowing a polyorganosiloxane having silicone resin structure to react with a polyorganosiloxane having silicone oil structure in the presence of a hydrosilylation catalyst, and having the both structures in the molecule. Also disclosed is a coating composition including the polyorganosiloxane compound, a silane or silicone resin having an RO&mdash;Si group, and a curing catalyst. The former polyorganosiloxane compound is compatible with silicone resins. The latter coating composition can provide coatings improved in flexibility without lowering the curability, surface hardness and weatherability inherent in silicone resins.

Polyorganosiloxane compound and coating composition containing the same

To an aromatic ring-bearing synthetic resin such as an aromatic polycarbonate resin or aromatic epoxy resin is added a minor amount of an organopolysiloxane which contains phenyl radicals and monofunctional siloxane units in a molecule wherein the contents of alkoxy radicals and hydroxyl radicals are each set at less than 2% by weight. Molded parts of the resin composition are flame retardant, optically transparent, and recyclable for reuse.

Flame retardant resin compositions

An antifoaming composition contains (A) 58 to 90% by weight of an oil compound and (B) 10 to 42% by weight of a mixture. The oil compound (A) consisting essentially of (i) 80 to 99.9% by weight of an organopolysiloxane composed of R SiO , R SiO and R SiO units in a ratio of (0.1 to 5):(90 to 99.8):(0.1 to 5) by mol % and (ii) 0.1 to 20% by weight of finely divided silica. The mixture (B) consisting essentially of (iii) 30 to 90% by weight of a polyoxyalkylene-modified silicone oil having a viscosity of 120,000 to 1,000,000 centipoise at 25&deg; C. and (iv) 1 to 70% by weight of a polyhydric alcohol alkyl ether having a molecular weight of 50 to 300. The composition has improved antifoaming properties, water dispersibility and stability.

Antifoaming compositions

Provided by the invention is a silicone-based oil compound as a base of a defoaming agent of, for example, an emulsion type in an aqueous medium containing a surface active agent capable of exhibiting excellent sustainability of the defoaming activity and stability against dilution. The oil compound comprises (A) from 30 to 98.9% by weight of an .alpha.,.omega.-dihydroxy dimethyl polysiloxane, (B) from 0.1 to 20% by weight of a poly(methyl hydroxy siloxane, such as 1,1,1,3,5,7,7,7-octamethyl-3,5-dihydroxy tetrasiloxane and (C) from 1 to 50% by weight of a finely divided silica powder having a specific surface area of at least 100 m.sup.2 /g.

Silicone-based foam-suppressing composition

Disclosed is a water-based printing ink composition exhibiting excellently low foaming behavior with sustainability even under adverse conditions of high temperature and intense shearing force encountered in the printing works. The printing ink composition comprises, besides an organic polymer as the binder resin in the form of an aqueous solution or emulsion and a coloring agent, e.g., dyes and pigments, a silicone-based defoaming composition comprising a polyoxyalkylene-modified polydiorganosiloxane, polydimethylsiloxane, finely divided silica filler and organopolysiloxane resin mainly or solely consisting of monofunctional organosiloxane units and tetrafunctional siloxane units each in a specified weight proportion.
