A vacuum heat-insulating material includes: an outer cover material; and a core material which is sealed in a tightly closed and decompressed state on the inside of the outer cover material. Outer cover material has gas barrier properties and satisfies at least one of a condition that a linear expansion coefficient is 80&#xd7;10/&#xb0; C. or lower when a static load is 0.05 N within a temperature range of &#x2212;130&#xb0; C. to 80&#xb0; C., inclusive, a condition that an average value of a linear expansion coefficient is 65&#xd7;10/&#xb0; C. or higher when a static load is 0.4 N within a temperature range of &#x2212;140&#xb0; C. to &#x2212;130&#xb0; C., inclusive, a condition that an average value of a linear expansion coefficient is 20&#xd7;10/&#xb0; C. or higher when a static load is 0.4 N within a temperature range of &#x2212;140&#xb0; C. to &#x2212;110&#xb0; C., inclusive, and a condition that an average value of a linear expansion coefficient is 13&#xd7;10/&#xb0; C. or higher when a static load is 0.4 N within a temperature range of +50&#xb0; C. to +65&#xb0; C., inclusive.

A dwelling wall includes: a vacuum heat-insulating material including an outer cover material, and an inner member which is sealed in a tightly closed and decompressed state on the inside of the outer cover material; and a wall material. In addition, the vacuum heat-insulating material is disposed on a rear surface side of the wall material, and the inner member is configured of a material which does not generate hydrogen in a case of coming into contact with moisture of liquid. According to the configuration, even in a case where the vacuum heat-insulating material used in the dwelling wall is ruptured and water of liquid comes into contact with the inner member, it is possible to realize excellent stability of the dwelling wall.

Provided is a carbon dioxide adsorbent with which large quantities of carbon dioxide can be adsorbed and removed even under conditions having low carbon dioxide concentrations such as when under subatmospheric pressure or when under an environment having a carbon dioxide partial pressure of less than atmospheric pressure, said carbon dioxide adsorbent exhibiting excellent adsorption activity. A carbon dioxide adsorbent including at least a ZSM-5 zeolite including barium (Ba) or strontium (Sr) is characterized in that the ZSM-5 zeolite includes M-O-M bonds (M being Ba or Sr, and O being oxygen). The M-O-M bonds interact strongly with carbon dioxide, and thus carbon dioxide can be adsorbed effectively and in large volumes even under conditions having low carbon dioxide concentrations.

Insulators (A toC) according to the present invention include: a core material () that retains a space; a sheath material () that has a gas bather ability and encloses the core material () therein in a decompressed and closed state; and gas adsorbents (A toD) enclosed in the sheath material () together with the core material (). A battery pack comprising: a secondary battery including a safety valve; a gas absorption portion including a gas absorbent represented by zeolite and a container hermetically enclosing the gas absorbent; and a case housing the secondary battery and the gas absorption portion. The safety valve is configured to discharge a gas produced in the secondary battery at the time of abnormality. The container includes a principal surface facing the safety valve, for example, and when the gas is discharged, the container is unsealed by rupturing of at least the principal surface of the container by an effect of heat or pressure of the gas.

A porous carbon material package member (A), which is one of the gas adsorption materials, can adsorb or eliminate air in the cabinet () by a porous carbon material () during the operation of a speaker unit () so as to buffer compression or expansion of air in the cabinet (). A sheet-like moisture adsorbing material (B), which is the other of the gas adsorbing materials, is formed by dispersing copper ion-exchanged ZSM-5 zeolite () in a thermoplastic resin composition (), and is stuck on at least a section of an inner wall of the cabinet (). This configuration allows moisture in the cabinet () to be rapidly adsorbed.

A sheet-shaped gas adsorbent according to the present invention is composed of at least a thermoplastic resin and copper ion-exchanged ZSM-5 type zeolite (), and typically represented by, for example, a single layer sheet-shaped gas adsorbent (), which is configured of dispersing the copper ion-exchanged ZSM-5 type zeolite () in the thermoplastic resin sheet (). Also, the insulating body according to the present invention comprises a sheet-shaped gas adsorbent having the aforementioned configuration, and typically represented by, for example, a configuration, in which a core member and a sheet-shaped gas adsorbent are covered with a sheath member.

An adsorbent comprising a zeolite having a pore diameter of not less than 4.5 angstroms and not more than 7.3 angstroms as a principal component, which can adsorb xenon under ordinary temperatures and pressures or under ordinary temperatures and low xenon partial pressures. In addition, a xenon adsorbing device comprising an adsorbent, a container of a vapor poorly-permeating material, which houses the adsorbent, and a joint part which joins the container to a xenon enclosure space, in which the adsorbent is communicated with the xenon enclosure space. Thereby, the present invention provides an adsorbent which recovers xenon directly from the used equipment in which xenon is enclosed with efficiency under ordinary temperatures and pressures or under ordinary temperatures and low xenon partial pressures, and a xenon adsorbing device using the adsorbent.

Adsorbent material and xenon adsorption device using same

An adsorbent comprising a zeolite having a pore diameter of not less than 4.5 angstroms and not more than 7.3 angstroms as a principal component, which can adsorb xenon under ordinary temperatures and pressures or under ordinary temperatures and low xenon partial pressure, is used. In the xenon recovery method of the present invention, the adsorbent is communicated with a xenon-containing equipment, and xenon is adsorbed on the adsorbent and xenon is detached from the adsorbent. Thereby, xenon can be recovered, with efficiency, directly from used equipment in which xenon is enclosed under ordinary temperatures and pressures or under ordinary temperatures and low xenon partial pressure.

Method for recovering xenon

A jacket material into which a gas adsorbing device and core material are inserted is decompressed in a vacuum chamber, the opening is sealed, and then the jacket material is exposed to the atmosphere. In the atmospheric pressure, a pressure of about 1 atm which is equivalent to the pressure difference between the inside and outside is applied to the jacket material of the heat insulator. The jacket material is made of a plastic laminated film and is deformed by pressure. A protruding portion is plunged into a container to drill through holes, and a gas adsorbent in the container communicates with the inside of the jacket material. Thus, both during holding and in applying to the vacuum heat insulator, the gas adsorbent can be applied to the vacuum heat insulator without degradation, and the high degree of vacuum can be kept for a long time.

The present invention relates to a gas-absorbing substance that contains at least Li and a solid material having a hardness of 5 or more, and absorbs at least nitrogen or oxygen at 25&#xb0; C. under normal pressure, and a gas-absorbing alloy that contains at least two kinds of metals that are not allowed to mutually form an intermetallic compound, with a mixing enthalpy of the two kinds of metals being greater than 0 and at least one portion of the two kinds of metals being atomically mixed, and also concerns a gas-absorbing material that contains the gas-absorbing substance and the gas-absorbing alloy.
