An active energy beam-curable ink contains an active energy beam-curable resin and a photocation polymerization initiator; wherein, as the active energy beam-curable resin, a multifunctional epoxy compound, an oxetane compound and 33 to 55% by weight of a monofunctional alicyclic epoxy compound are contained. Accordingly, it is possible to stably discharge the active energy beam-curable ink from an ink jet head, and the ink having a high hardness and high adhesion after curing is provided.

Active energy beam-curable ink and ink-jet recording method using active energy beam-curable ink

A pigment ink for ink-jet recording which is excellent in freezing resistance and fixability includes a pigment, an aqueous resin emulsion, polyethylene glycol and diethylene glycol. This ink satisfies the following formulae (1), (2) and (3):&#x3c;15&#x2003;&#x2003;(1)&#x3e;10&#x2003;&#x2003;(2)30&#x2266;&#x2266;64&#x2003;&#x2003;(3)wherein: A is the content of polyethylene glycol (%); B is the content of diethylene glycol (%); and &#x3b1; is the molecular weight ratio of polyethylene glycol to diethylene glycol.

Ink for ink-jet recording

There is provided an inkjet head including a nozzle plate in which a plurality of nozzles from which ink is ejected are formed. The nozzle plate has a nozzle surface on which nozzle orifices corresponding to the plurality of nozzles are formed. The nozzle surface has surface roughness Rz in a range from 0.3 to 5 &#x3bc;m formed by a roughening process. The ink has surface tension in a range from 28 to 35 mN/m.
