Reduces time for processing a request Simple Object Access Protocol, SOAP, message in a request means such as mobile equipment or the like. Sequence definition means divides one parent SOAP message as one request concerning a Web Service into segments of a Simple Object Access Protocol header and a SOAP body. Segment creation means creates the segment of the Simple Object Access Protocol body of the parent SOAP message and the segment of the SOAP header of the parent Simple Object Access Protocol message in this order. Sending means executes sending processing in parallel with creation processing by the segment creation means. Specifically, the sending means assigns one child Simple Object Access Protocol message enveloping the content of a segment to each of the segments, and sends each of the child Simple Object Access Protocol messages to the provider in accordance with a creation sequence of the segments.

A lighting system includes a light guide plate, having a plane of incidence into which light enters and a plane of emission from which the light is emitted, a light source, having a luminous portion and a non-luminous portion, that is located adjacent to the light guide plate so that the light guide plate is irradiated by light. The system further includes a lamp socket, for holding at least one end of the light source, and a reflector, which is extended along the light source for reflecting the light produced by the light source. The lamp socket exhibits a transmittance of 20 to 90% in wavelengths of from 300 to 900 nm, and the light is scattered through the lamp socket. A liquid crystal display (LCD) device having a side backlight unit that minimizes or eliminates extraneous bright lines on the LCD panel. The side backlight unit includes a lamp reflector and lamp disposed on a light incident side surface of a light guide plate. A light reflection layer is formed on the inner surface of the lamp reflector, and a transparent protective layer is formed on the reflection layer. The transparent protective layer has a thickness less than 5 micrometers. The lamp reflector has arm portions that sandwich the light guide plate on the front and back surfaces at the lamp side of the light guide plate. A light transmission region between the arm portions of the lamp reflector and the front and back surfaces of the light guide plate has a thickness less than 5 micrometers.

A light source device and display device capable of suppressing occurrence of unevenness in luminance therefrom by using a light guide with concave or convex structural portions in combination with a reflection layer disposed adjacent the light guide and including a plurality of spacers for strategically positioning the layer's reflecting surface from the light guide. Light within the light guide is both reflected from the guide (e.g., to an adjacent display panel) or emitted onto the reflecting surface and passed back through the guide for eventual emission (e.g., to the same display panel). A reflection sheet including a base sheet, reflection layer and structural portions is also provided.

A backlight apparatus (and light guide and liquid crystal display apparatus incorporating the same) includes a wedge-type light guide having a refractive index n , and having a top surface, a bottom surface and a side surface, a light source for directing light to the side surface of the wedge-type light guide, a first light transmission layer having a refractive index n , which is smaller than said refractive index n , and having a top surface and a bottom surface, wherein the top surface of the first light transmission layer is attached to the bottom surface of the wedge-type light guide, and a light deflecting layer having a top surface attached to the bottom surface of the first light transmission layer for deflecting the incident light from the first light transmission layer toward the top surface of the wedge-type light guide.

A light guide system has a light guide having a first end portion opposite a second end portion. The light guide provides a first surface and a second surface between the first and second end portions, and the second surface is inclined relative to the first surface. A light source is disposed along the first end portion on a first axis. A light redistribution device is disposed on an entrance of the light guide for receiving light from the light source and redistributing a portion of the light perpendicular to the first axis to provide a uniform light distribution from the first surface.
