A multiplayer perform having at least a medium or intermediate gas barrier layer is prepared in advance by the injection molding of this perform in a predetermined shape that corresponds to the shape of a finished molded product. The body portion of this perform is heated to a blow moldable temperature. The heated perform is set in a primary blow mold (), and is blow molded in the biaxial orientation to give a primary molded intermediate (). The primary intermediate () is then heated to deform it forcibly by thermal shrinkage and thereby to give the secondary molded intermediate (). The shrunken secondary intermediate () is set in a secondary blow mold (), and is subjected to the secondary blow molding in the biaxial orientation to obtain a finished molded product, which is fixed thermally to give heat history to the PET resin. As a result, the PET resin layers are given a high degree of crystallization, which serves to complement the function of the gas barrier layer or layers in such a way that the container has high and effective gas barrier properties.

Laminated polyester resin container and method of molding such a container

The laminated plastic molded body of the present invention comprises a three-layered or five-layered laminated plastic molded body in which a resin layer A and a resin layer B are laminated alternately, and the resin layer A is a poly(ethylene terephthalate) resin layer, and the resin layer B interposed between said resin layers A is a polyolefin resin layer having a cyclic olefin component. Thereby, a laminated plastic molded body for general use having high degree of barrier properties to humidity, and yet excellent transparency and oxygen barrier properties, and having excellent resistant to vegetable type or mineral type oils or greases can be provided.

A laminated plastic molded body of the present invention comprises a laminated plastic molded body having a layered structure portion of three-layers or five-layers in which a resin layer A and a resin layer B are alternatively laminated, wherein the resin layer A provided at least at the surface side of the layered structure portion is a mixed resin layer of a poly(ethylene terephthalate) resin and at least one resin selected from the group consisting of an amorphous polyester resin, an ethylene naphthalate-ethylene terephthalate copolymer resin and a meta-xylene group-containing polyamide resin, and the resin layer B interposed between the resin layers A is a barrier resin layer comprising at least one resin selected from the group consisting of a meta-xylene group-containing polyamide resin and an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer resin. Thus, a multi-layer laminated plastic container having highly gas barrier properties against oxygen and carbon dioxide gases, and yet transparency, excellent characteristics in mechanical properties, and having food hygiene properties can be provided.

Handle for a container

The present invention provides a bottle with a grip that can effectively prevent cracks from being produced along the connecting portion of the bottle main body and the grip, and prevent flexural deformation from occurring as much as possible to make the grip firmly and stably secured to the bottle main body. The bottle comprises a biaxially oriented blow-molded bottle main body and a grip which includes upper and lower securing plates and a securing beam plate which are used as as insertion members. The front ends of the upper and lower securing plates are firmly held in position relative to each other by the securing beam panel so as to prevent cracks from being produced in the bottle main body. The securing beam plate is provided with a projection that makes the grip unremovably, undisplacably and hence stably secured to the bottle main body.

A bottle has a high strength against pressure-reduction without reducing the internal content. The bottle is made up of a circular bottom; a barrel portion extending upwardly from the outer peripheral edge of the bottom portion; and a plurality of recessed portions each having a longitudinal and approximately rectangular shape, which are spaced from each other along the circumferential direction of the barrel portion. Each of the recessed portions includes a recessed panel surface fallen in from the barrel portion by a specified stepped dimension and two pieces of swelling bodies that swell in the outer peripheral direction from the recessed panel surface by a specified height. Two of the swelling bodies, each being formed into a trapezoidal shape having a flat upper end surface, are longitudinally spaced from each other along the longitudinal length of the bottle.

A biaxially blow-molded bottle-shaped container having a body and a lower end of the body between the body and a leg of the body, wherein a diameter of said lower end of the body is the largest diameter of the container; a circumferential rib is provided and externally swelled on the lower end of the body; and upper and lower portions of the circumferential rib comprise a rib wall in the form of a tapered wall. A container including an upper end of the body having the largest diameter of the container may be used. In this case, the diameter of the upper end of the body is equal to that of the lower end of the body; the circumferential rib is provided and externally swelled on the upper end of the body; and upper and lower portions of the circumferential rib comprise rib walls in the form of a tapered wall.

Spherulites grow in such sections as neck, neck end, bottom center or bottom periphery of a hollow bottle-shaped container of biaxially oriented blow-molded polyethylene terephthalate where the resin is not substantially subjected to orientation, thereby to improve the thermal resistance, stiffness and content resistance of such sections to almost the same extent as the biaxially oriented sections of the container such as shoulder and cylindrical sections thereof. The aforesaid sections of the preformed piece before being blow-molded or of the blow-molded container where the resin is not substantially subjected to orientation are first heated at 120.degree.-180.degree. C. for 3-8 minutes and, then, annealed at room temperatures, with a result that such sections have a spherulite texture of an increased density and are opacified in white or milky white.

Polyester container

A hollow blow-molded container of a biaxially oriented thermoplastic material in which the container body section contains a rib strip and a rib groove below the collapse panels to accommodate evacuation of the container without deleterious changes in the appearance or strength of the container. The rib strip and rib groove below the collapse panels supports the container's body section during shrinkage of the contents of the container and reduces deformation during fabrication of the container.

A hollow blow-molded container of a biaxially oriented thermoplastic material in which the container bottom section contains support panels or structures. The support panels prevent uneven shrinkage and help minimize rocking of the container by maintaining the uniformity of the bottom section during fabrication.

This invention relates to a synthetic resin bottle-shaped container comprising a bottle-shaped main body and a pedestal body for providing stable self-standing capability to the main body. The bottle-shaped main body (1) is made of a biaxially oriented blow-molded synthetic resin material. A center portion (6) of a bottom portion (3) of the main body (1) is depressed inwardly and a curved outer peripheral surface area of the bottom portion (3) is formed with a wide press-fit recess (4) to be engaged with a pedestal body (7). The pedestal body (7) is a short cylindrical portion with an outer diameter substantially equal to that of the bottle portion (2) of the main body (1) and comprises an upper half portion (9) for engaging with the press-fit recess (4) of the bottom portion (3) and a lower half portion (8) for accommodating the bottom portion (3) so that the lowest end of the pedestal body (7) is positioned below the lowest end of the bottom portion (3 ). The pedestal body (7) is easily and exactly engaged with the main body (1) and also provides a high protection capability against external impact to the bottom portion (3) of the main body (1).

A blow-molded bottle-shaped container of biaxially oriented synthetic resin integrally molded with a neck at the top of a cylindrical body thereof, comprising a pair of recesses depressed inwardly on the cylindrical wall thereof at both sides of the cylindrical body and spaced so that one remaining container body surface of the container body forms a grip by the formation of said recesses. The blow-molded bottle-shaped container of biaxially oriented synthetic resin can enhance sufficiently the mechanical strength of the recesses formed on the container body by providing reinforcing ribs for effectively dispersing internal pressure acting one the recesses.

A hollow blow-molded container of a biaxially oriented thermoplastic material in which the container walls contain collapse panels with indentations and reinforcing ribs to accommodate evacuation and permit fabrication of the container without deleterious changes in the appearance of the container. The indentations and ribs within the collapse panels effectively support the collapse panels during contraction of the contents of the container and prevent deformation during fabrication.
