Disclosed herein is a heat radiating structure for radiating the heat generated by a lamp in an image projecting apparatus for projecting an image onto a screen to display the image thereon, including a heat sink for radiating heat generated by the lamp, the heat sink including heat transfer means for transferring the heat from the lamp, the heat transfer means being held in close contact with the lamp, heat storage means for storing the heat transferred from the lamp through the heat transfer means, and a plurality of fins serving as heat radiating means for radiating the heat stored by the heat storage means, wherein the heat transfer means, the heat storage means, and the heat radiating means are of a separable structure.

Heat radiating structure for use in image projecting apparatus

In an LCD projector or other projection type display apparatus which uses a lamp such as a xenon lamp for a light source, the lamp is cooled efficiently without increasing ambient noises or without causing the whole apparatus to become large-sized, and at the same time the lifetime and the reliability of a fan which cools the lamp is made improved. When fansandwhich are disposed on a front side of the lamp mounted with a heat sinkrotate, external air of ordinary temperature is taken inlet and guided into ductsandso as to be blown onto the front face of the lamp by means of the fansand. Then, high temperature air which was warmed by being blown onto the lamp is exhausted from an outlet to the outside.

Projection type display apparatus and lamp cooling apparatus

A projection type display device, in which efficient cooling is performed in a remarkably silent manner, includes: a light source unit; an optical unit for modulating illumination light output from the light source unit based on input image information; two power source sections and; a box for housing the optical unit, the light source unit and the power source sections; and a cover member for entirely covering at least an upper surface of the box, wherein an outlet for externally exhausting air in the box by using axial fans is provided only on a bottom side of the box. Liquid crystal panels that are held by the optical unit frame absorb the illumination light from the light source unit and thus have different increased temperatures. Cooling air blown through an outlet of a sirocco fan that is directly connected to the optical unit frame is divided by a cooling air reservoir and a distribution sheet into predetermined air quantities in accordance with the temperatures of the liquid crystal panels so that the quantities of air obtained by the division are directly sent to the liquid crystal panels.

An LED display apparatus capable of reliably preventing damage caused by static electricity without worsening the visual recognition, in which an the display surface of the LED display apparatus is mounted an electrically conductive plate having a thickness nearly equal to, or smaller than, the height of the light-emitting portions L in a direction Z perpendicular to the display surface and having holes perforated at positions corresponding to the positions of the light-emitting portions L on the display surface. The electrically conductive plate is grounded, and a current due to the electrostatic discharge flows from the electrically conductive plate into ground.
