When the first straight line and the second straight line are viewed from a first direction side, the first straight line and the second straight line are disposed in parallel to each other on a plane, and when the plane is viewed in a plan view, one side portion and the other side portion that are included in the driven area and covered by the covering portion and that are located opposite each other with the first straight line located between the one side portion and the other side portion have mutually different lengths in a direction perpendicular to the first straight line.

An electrophoretic display apparatus includes a data line charging circuit; an adjustment resistance; a first switching portion that cause a first data line end portion of the data line to be electrically connected to any one of a data line driving circuit and the adjustment resistance; a second switching portion that cause a second data line end portion of the data line to be electrically connected to or disconnected from the data line charging circuit; and a control portion that perform control such that the first switching portion causes the first data line end portion of the data line to be electrically connected to the adjustment resistance, and subsequently allow starting of a precharge operation by performing control such that the second switching portion causes the second data line end portion of the data line to be electrically connected to the data line charging circuit.

Electrophoretic display apparatus and electronic device

A printing material receptacle fitted on a folder of a printing apparatus that includes a writing unit. The printing material receptacle includes a housing to accommodate ink; a first recording portion formed on a face of the housing and for recording updatable first information relating to the printing material receptacle to be updatable and visible using a non-electronic method, the face being exposed from the folder when the printing material receptacle is fitted on the folder; and a second recording portion formed on the face of the housing and for recording updatable second information relating to the printing material receptacle to be updatable, invisible, and mechanically readable using a non-electronic method. The first and second recording portions are configured to be written with the first and second information respectively by the writing unit.

A piezoelectric motor includes a piezoelectric element having a piezoelectric layer, and a first and a second electrodes, the first electrode provided on one surface side of the piezoelectric layer, and the second electrode provided on the other surface side of the piezoelectric layer; a piezoelectric actuator having a vibrating member anchored to the first electrode of the piezoelectric element; and a rotational shaft with which the vibrating member makes contact and is rotated thereby. The piezoelectric layer includes a vertical vibration excitation region, provided toward the center of the piezoelectric layer in the widthwise direction, that elicits vertical vibrations, and two groups of bending vibration excitation regions, one group disposed on either side of the vertical vibration excitation region so that two opposing diagonal pairs are formed; and the polarization direction of the vertical vibration excitation region and one of the groups of the bending vibration excitation regions in the piezoelectric layer is inverted relative to the other group of the bending vibration excitation regions.

The environmental burden of a liquid container during its life cycle is reduced, and a decrease in the reading or writing precision of an information recording unit provided on the liquid container is suppressed. A liquid container mounted in a liquid container holder of a liquid consuming apparatus, equipped with a first container section enclosing at least a portion of a liquid containing space capable of containing a liquid, the material thereof including a plant derived material, a high rigidity member having higher rigidity than the first container section, the material thereof including a material different from the plant derived material, and an information recording unit positioned above the high rigidity member, in which information relating to the liquid container is recorded, for which the information is read or written by a reading unit or a writing unit provided on the liquid consuming apparatus.

Liquid container

An ink cartridge is adapted to be mounted in a holder of a printer and includes: an ink containing bag which is configured in a bag shape and capable of containing a liquid in an inner portion; a flow path member having a flow path that guides the ink contained in the ink containing bag to an outside and a supply port connected to the flow path; and a containing box including a plant derived material accommodating the liquid containing bag; in which an outermost layer forming an outer surface of the ink containing bag has a shock buffering section that buffers against an impact from the outside via the containing box.

An ink cartridge has a label portion on a wall surface of one periphery of a case forming an ink accommodating unit. The label unit has a lamination structure in which a plurality of layers with different properties and states are laminated, and includes an optical functional layer that allows light (first wavelength of light) with a predetermined wavelength to pass and an optical reflective layer that reflects the first wavelength of light, and the optical reflective layer is a surface side of the case. When the optical reflective layer is heated from a thermal head of a heating unit directed to the label portion, the optical reflective layer irreversibly raises absorptivity of the first wavelength of light with respect to a received range.

Cartridge and printing apparatus

An ink cartridge has a label portion on a wall surface of one periphery of a case forming an ink accommodating unit. The label unit has an optical functional layer that allows a predetermined wavelength of light to pass, an optical dispersion layer that includes hollow bodies, and an optical absorptive layer that absorbs the first wavelength of light, which are laminated in this order, and the optical absorptive layer is a surface side of the case. When the optical reflective layer is heated from a heating unit directed to the label portion at a temperature of damaging the hollow bodies, the dispersion of the light is suppressed by the damage to the hollow bodies, and the transmittance of the wavelength of light is irreversibly raised.

A method of manufacturing a piezoelectric element includes: forming a first base substrate having an element to be transferred; forming a second base substrate; and transferring the element to the second base substrate. The forming of the element includes forming a first electrode above a first substrate, forming a piezoelectric layer above the first electrode, forming a second electrode above the piezoelectric layer, crystallizing the piezoelectric layer, forming a dielectric layer above the second electrode, and etching the dielectric layer such that part of the second electrode is exposed and the dielectric layer has a protrusion upwardly protruding relative to the second electrode. Forming the second base substrate includes forming a third electrode above a second substrate. The transferring includes bonding the element and the second base substrate such that the second substrate is in contact with the protrusion and the second electrode is in contact with the third electrode.

Method of manufacturing a piezoelectric element

A capacitor section is formed with a lower electrode provided on a SiOlayer above an impurity layer provided in a substrate, a ferroelectric layer provided on the lower electrode, and an upper electrode provided on the ferroelectric layer. Further, the semiconductor device is equipped with a SiOlayer that electrically insulates the upper electrode from a wiring, a first contact hole in which a W plug is formed for electrically connecting the impurity layer and the lower electrode, and a second contact hole for electrically connecting the upper electrode and the wiring. The first contact hole and the second contact hole are opened at positions mutually deviated as viewed in a plan view of the capacitor section.
