In a rotating electric machine, an armature winding includes segmented conductors that include a coil side portion, housed in slots of the armature, and a coil end portion protruding from an armature core on both sides in an axial direction. The coil side portions are housed in the slots so as to form 2N+1 layers in a radial direction. The coil end portion connects two coil side portions respectively housed in the slots that are a predetermined pitch apart in a circumferential direction. The coil end portion includes a first coil end portion connecting the coil side portions of differing layers in the radial direction and a second coil end portion connecting the coil side portions of the same layer. On both ends in the axial direction, any of the plurality of coil side portions that are housed in the slots is connected to the second coil end portion.

Rotating electric machine

A stator includes a stator core, a plurality of phase windings, a neutral line and a fixing portion. The plurality of phase windings is wounded a plurality of times by a predetermined winding method crossing between a plurality of slots. One lead end of each phase winding is a neutral point connecting portion, and the one lead end is pulled out from an axially end portion of the stator core. The neutral line connects the neutral point connecting portions of the phase windings of different phases together. The neutral line is separate from the phase windings. The fixing portion fixes a first phase winding that is connected to the neutral line. A second phase winding is adjacent to the first phase winding together.

Stator for rotary electric machine

A stator includes a core fixed to a case of a rotary electric machine, and a plurality of winding wire coils that are wound on the core and that form a coil end protruded in the axial direction of the core. The two winding wire coils have a first and second conducting wires that are exposed in a distal end of each of the two coils. The stator includes: a joint in which the first and second wires are joined together at the coil end and in which proximal portions of the two coils approach each other with an acute angle therebetween so that the first and second wires lie on each other; and an insulating coat formed to enclose the joint with an insulating material that is coated entirely over peripheries of the two coils in their circumferential directions while filling a space across which the proximal portions form the acute angle. A rotary electric machine includes the stator, the case and a rotor.

Stator and rotary electric machine

A stator includes a stator coil formed of electric wires which include a joined pair of first and second electric wires. The first electric wire has a lead portion led out from the radially inner periphery of a first slot of a stator core and including a crossover part. The crossover part crosses over an axial end face of an end part of the stator coil from the radially inside to the radially outside of the axial end face; the end part protrudes from an axial end face of the stator core. The second electric wire has a lead portion led out from the radially outer periphery of a second slot of the stator core. The lead portions of the electric wires are joined together with a joint formed therebetween. The joint is positioned closer to the axial end face of the stator core than the crossover part is.

Stator for electric rotating machine

A stator includes a stator coil that is formed of a plurality of electric wires each being comprised of an electric conductor having a substantially rectangular cross section and an insulating coat covering the electric conductor. The electric wires include a pair of first and second electric wires each having an end portion where the electric conductor is not covered by the insulating coat. Each of the end portions of the two electric wires includes a joined part at a distal end thereof; the joined parts of the end portions are joined together. At least one of the first and second electric wires has a bent part that is bent only once and adjoins the joined part of the end portion of the electric wire. The end portion of the at least one of the first and second electric wires includes at least part of the bent part.

A stator for an electric rotating machine includes a stator coil that is formed of a plurality of electric wire segments each of which is comprised of an electric conductor and an insulating coat covering the electric conductor. The electric wire segments include a joined pair of first and second electric wire segments. Each of the first and second electric wire segments has an end portion of a first predetermined length where the electric conductor is not covered by the insulating coat. The end portions of the first and second electric wire segments are joined together. For each of the first and second electric wire segments, the insulating coat has, at its boundary with the end portion of the electric wire segment, a peeled portion of a second predetermined length which has a distal end peeled from the electric conductor and a proximal end remaining attached to the electric conductor.

The electric rotating machine includes a rotor around which a field coil is wound, and a stator including a stator core around which an armature winding is wound. The armature winding includes a first three-phase winding whose phase coils are delta-connected to form a delta winding, and a second three-phase winding whose phase coils are connected to corresponding nodes of the delta winding to form a star winding. The delta winding and the star winding are wound around the stator core such that the phase coils of the delta winding and the phase coils of the star winding share the same slots of the stator core.

Electric rotating machine

The vehicle AC generator includes a frame including an end wall section and a peripheral wall section, a stator core, a stator coil having rear and front coil ends projecting axially rearward and frontward respectively from the stator core, a rotor supported by the frame, and a cooling fan having centrifugal blades and fixed to the rotor. The peripheral wall section has a cooling air discharge opening adjoining the end wall section. The end wall section has a centrifugal-blade-facing portion axially facing the centrifugal blades, and a coil-end-facing portion axially facing the rear coil end. The coil-end-facing portion is bent at a predetermined curvature radius and extending from the centrifugal-blade-facing portion to the cooling air discharge opening. The inner end surface of the coil-end-facing portion is formed with a recess located axially rearwardly of a radial extension line of an inner end surface of the centrifugal-blade-facing portion.

Vehicle AC generator

In an AC generator for a vehicle, an end cover has two types of parts, one-type part is away from a rib part in a positive cooling fin, and the other-type part is close to the rib part. The rib part projects toward the end cover side. The one-type part is thinner than the other-type part in the end cover in order to reduce the variation of thermal expansion in each part of the end cover. This configuration increases anti-thermal fatigue of the end cover.

AC generator for a vehicle

In an alternating-current generator, an end wall of a frame is provided with a plurality of fin supports separately arranged on the outer surface of the end wall. The cooling fin is mounted on the plurality of fin supports. The end wall is provided with a plurality of reinforcements each arranged between a corresponding one of the plurality of fin supports and another one thereof and each configured to reinforce a rigidity of a portion of the end wall. The corresponding one of the plurality of fin supports and another one thereof are adjacent to each other in a circumferential direction of the axis of the rotor. The rigidity-reinforced portion of the end wall is located between the corresponding one of the plurality of fin supports and another one thereof.

Alternating current generator with improved frame structure

In a rotary electric machine, a first group of first and second sets of three-phase windings of a stator coil is disposed in part of substantially circumferentially spaced slots of a stator core, and a second group of third and fourth sets of three-phase windings of the stator coil is disposed in another part of the slots. The first to fourth sets include first to fourth three-phase windings, respectively. Output ends of the first to fourth three-phase windings and input ends of the second and fourth windings are disposed at one of opposing end surface sides of the stator core. The output ends of the first and second three-phase windings of the first and second sets included in the first group are separated from the output ends of the third and fourth three-phase windings of the third and fourth sets included in the second group.

Rotary electric machine and stator coil rotary electric machines

In a rotary electric machine, at least one of first and second ends of each conductor segment is at least partially joined to at least one of the first and second ends of a corresponding another one of the conductor segments to provide the stator winding including a plurality of joint portions of the plurality of conductor segments. An insulating film covers each of the conductor segments except for at least the joint portions of the stator winding. At least part of the insulating film of each of the conductor segments located close to a corresponding one of the joint portions contains an evaporatable component. An amount in ppm of the evaporatable component contained in the at least part of the insulating film is adjusted to be equal to or lower than 20000 ppm.

Rotary electric machine and stator for rotary electric machines

A vehicle alternator is disclosed having a stator, a rotor, a frame surrounding the stator and the rotor, a bowl-shaped end cover mounted on the frame and defining an electric component-part compartment, a brush unit held in sliding contact with slip rings of a rotary shaft, and a rectifier unit. The rectifier unit includes a terminal block embedded with A.C. conductive segments for multi-phase windings of a stator coil. The end cover includes a base wall portion and protective partitioned compartments axially protruding from a base wall portion of the end cover toward the frame at circumferentially spaced positions for the multi-phase windings, respectively, for surrounding at least one circumference of a connecting portion between an exposed end portion of each A.C. conductive segment and a diode lead and a connecting portion between the exposed end portion of each A.C. conductive segment and a stator lead.

Vehicle alternator with improved end cover structure

A vehicle alternator is disclosed having a stator, a rotor, a frame surrounding the stator and the rotor, a bowl-shaped end cover mounted on the frame and defining an electric component-part compartment, a brush unit held in sliding contact with slip rings of a rotary shaft, and a rectifier unit. The rectifier unit includes an insulating terminal block radially extending in face-to-face relation to the one end face of the frame, a positive-side cooling fin carried on one surface of the insulating terminal block, and a negative-side cooling fin carried on the other surface of the insulating terminal block. At least one of the insulating terminal block and the end cover has a heat shield plate member laterally extending through a radial space between the cooling fins and the brush unit in a direction substantially parallel to the axis of the rotary shaft.

Vehicle alternator with improved operation reliability

An AC generator has negative pole-side rectifier devices press-fitted to a holder fin so as to dispose a bottom face of the rectifier device on a surface of the holder fin. The holder fin is disposed in such a manner that the bottom face of the rectifier device faces a rear frame of the AC generator. A clearance is formed between the rear frame and the bottom face through which the cooling wind for the rectifier device flows. The rear frame is provided with a slant face on its outer wall face for inducing the cooling wind introduced through an opening of the protection cover of the AC generator to the rectifier devices. Thus, the cooling wind induced by the slant face can hit on the bottom face of the rectifier devices directly, so as to cool the rectifier device well.
