An abnormality detection system for highly precise detection of an abnormality in a laser treatment device includes a laser transmission tube coupled with a laser treatment unit, oscillating laser light, a discharge-side water pressure sensor, and a water pressure detection liquid surface level meter detecting a change in a pressure of cooling water flowing through forward-direction and a backward-direction spaces in the laser transmission tube. The laser transmission tube includes a hollow wavelength path having a lightguide space formed in a longitudinal direction, and an outer case enclosing an outer circumferential surface of the hollow waveguide path and extending in the longitudinal direction. The discharge-side water pressure sensor and the water pressure detection liquid surface level meter detect the change in the pressure of the cooling water flowing through in a forward-direction space and a backward-direction space to detect any abnormality.

A laser tip, a laser treatment tool, a laser treatment device and a laser treatment system are provided for performing laser treatment surgery and minimizing any bleeding. A laser tip is attachable to a laser radiation opening located at the tip end of a laser transmission tube. The laser tip includes an attaching portion detachable from the laser radiation opening and a contact portion contactable with biological tissue. The contact portion is at the front of the attaching portion in the direction in which the laser light exits the laser radiation opening. An open space is located between the contact portion and the attaching portion, and a coupler couples a part of the contact portion and a part of the attaching portion. The contact portion has a reflective surface at a rear end thereof which reflects the laser light toward the coupler.

The inner cladding region has a solid part that is made of a glass material into a part or all of which a rare earth element is doped, and the outer cladding region has a refractive index lower than that of the solid part of the inner cladding region.

An exciting light is incident to the optical fiber for a fiber laser device, and the exciting light is reflection-excited to emit a high power laser oscillation light. A monitoring current is constantly flown into the metal layer. When the disconnection of the optical fiber for a fiber laser device is detected based on the monitoring current, the energization of the optical fiber for a fiber laser device is stopped.
