A computer produces predictions throughout a raster field in response to point data, by obtaining a partially empty matrix of point data, filling a matrix of extrapolated raster data by dilating the point data in a first convolutional neural network, and generating a matrix of aggregate raster data by combining the extrapolated raster data with organic raster data in a second convolutional neural network.

Combining point observations with raster data for machine learning

A method of generating an aggregate forecast includes obtaining historical forecasts for a number of time steps and at least one location, obtaining historical conditions for the time steps and the at least one location, training a machine learning algorithm to produce an aggregate historical forecast in response to the historical conditions and the historical forecasts, and producing an aggregate current forecast by running the trained machine learning algorithm on current forecasts. The historical forecasts and the current forecasts vary in at least one of spatial resolution or temporal resolution, and include a first forecast that is valid for a first time step and a second forecast that is valid for a second time step.

Combining forecasts of varying spatial and temporal resolution

An aperture antenna is provided so that it is capable of matching with a standardized coaxial cable without employing any matching circuit. The aperture antenna includes a first flat electric conductor with an aperture in which a second aperture length in a second direction perpendicular to a first direction is greater than a first aperture length in the first direction. A second electric conductor, spaced from the first electric conductor is disposed inside the aperture in practically the same plane with the first electric conductor. A patch antenna utilized in conjunction with an electronic apparatus, such as a notebook personal computer, is disclosed. The patch antenna includes a patch, a ground plate, and a dielectric plate. The dielectric plate is formed between the patch and the ground plate. Specifically, the dielectric plate is formed by a wall portion of a chassis of an electronic apparatus located between the patch and the ground plate such that the patch antenna is formed integrally with the chassis of the electronic apparatus.

A patch antenna,is comprised of a ground plate,provided on one surface of a dielectric plate,along with a patch,and a feeding line,for connection to the patch,each being provided on the other surface of the dielectric plate,In this patch antenna,an aperture,is provided on the ground plate,at a position, which is asymmetric about a center of the ground plate,By virtue of placing the aperture,on the ground plate,in an asymmetrical manner about the center of the ground plate,, distribution of a return current becomes so asymmetric as to yield a common mode current. In this way, it is possible to implement the non-directional and broad-bandwidth characteristics.
