In the tape winding apparatus of the present invention, the recessed blowout part is formed at the tip end part of the nozzle and a plurality of slits are disposed at the blowout part. Therefore, the range where the sprayed gas presses the tape becomes wide, and the entire force which presses the tape becomes strong. Thereby, a constant biasing force can be applied to the outer peripheral surface of the tape roll, as a result of which, the tape roll of favorable quality can be obtained.

Tape winding apparatus

In the tape winder for winding a tape on a reel to form a tape roll, a nozzle which blows a gas toward an outer peripheral surface of the tape roll at a winding time of the tape is fixed on a slider, which is slidably supported on a rail. In this way, the nozzle is supported movably forward and backward with respect to the tape roll. Moreover, the nozzle is pressed toward the tape roll by an air cylinder with a constant pressing force. Thus, the nozzle is allowed to accurately follow an outer peripheral surface of the tape roll, and a constant pressure can be applied to the outer peripheral surface of the tape roll. Consequently, the tape can be wound with an adequate winding tightness.

The reel spring for use in a magnetic tape cassette comprises a fixing portion which is fixed to a boss of a cassette case by means of a boss hole, an arm portion which forces a reel in an axial direction of rotation and a bending portion provided between the fixing portion and the arm portion in an L-like shape. The ratio of a length of the fixing portion of the reel spring to a height of the boss is 4.0 or more. The length of the fixing portion is longer than that of the arm portion by 1 mm to 5 mm. The magnetic tape cassette employs the reel spring which is capable of enhancing production efficiency in fabricating the magnetic tape cassette while maintaining a specified force of the reel spring.

A cassette casing has tape identifying holes which are arranged in a predetermined pattern so that the pattern of the tape identifying holes represents the kind of the magnetic tape wound in the cassette casing such as the length of the magnetic tape, the properties of the magnetic layer thereon and the like. A magnetic tape take-up system which winds a magnetic tape in such a cassette casing is provided with control keys for inputting the kind of the magnetic tape to be wound, a memory which stores the pattern of the tape identifying holes which represents the kind of magnetic tape input by the control keys, and a pattern detecting mechanism which detects the pattern of the tape identifying holes born by the cassette casing positioned in the winding position, and when the pattern of the tape identifying holes stored in the memory does not conform to that detected by pattern detecting mechanism, winding of the tape is inhibited.

The welding is effected at abutting portions of a projection formed on one of the two case halves and a recess formed on the other. A gap is left between the end surface of the distalface of the projection and the bottom of the recess defining an internal space. At least one air hole is formed communicating with the internal space, and suction may be applied to the internal space through the air hole. A magnetic tape wind-up method comprises the steps of winding up a magnetic tape around a hub, which is incorporated in a cassette case, while the magnetic tape is being moved and is in contact with a contact member provided in the cassette case. The magnetic tape is wound up while a gas is being blown against the contact member or against a portion of the magnetic tape, which portion is present in the vicinity of the contact member, in such a way that the gas flows between the contact member and the magnetic tape.

Magnetic tape wind-up method

A magnetic tape winding apparatus in which the tape can be neatly wound with the use of a magnetic assembly of minimum size. The magnetic assembly is composed of a plurality of mutually concentric magnets having alternating magnetic poles disposed adjacent the side edge of the tape being wound. The magnetic assembly may be disposed around the winding shaft used to drive the tape winding body on which the tape is being wound, or it may be placed on the opposite side of the tape winding body from the winding shaft.

An apparatus and method for winding up a magnetic tape in a cassette comprises first and second conveyance devices. The first conveyance device receives a cassette case, in which magnetic tape has not yet been wound up, at a receiving position, conveys the cassette case to a wind-up waiting position, at which said first conveyance means device provides the cassette case to the second conveyance device, and returns to the receiving position in order to receive a new cassette case in which magnetic tape has not yet been wound up. The second conveyance device conveys the cassette case to a wind-up position at which a magnetic tape is wound up in the cassette case. The second conveyance device then conveys the cassette case, in which the magnetic tape has been wound up, to the wind-up waiting position. Thereafter, the first conveyance device conveys the new cassette case, in which magnetic tape has not yet been wound up, to the wind-up waiting position and simultaneously pushes the previous cassette case out of the second conveyance device. Alternatively, the previous cassette case may be conveyed out of the second conveyance device due to gravity slightly before the new cassette case is conveyed to the wind-up waiting position.

Apparatus and method for winding up magnetic tapes in cassettes

In a magnetic tape winding system, an end portion of a magnetic tape, which is cut after the magnetic tape is wound by a predetermined length from a magnetic tape feed roll to a first small wind-up frame, is joined with one end portion of a leader tape having the other end portion engaged with a second small wind-up frame by use of a joining tape. Immediately after the joining, the magnetic tape and the leader tape joined by the joining tape is rewound by a predetermined length around the second small wind-up frame, whereby slack of the tape between the first small wind-up frame and the second small wind-up frame is eliminated without causing the joining section of the magnetic tape with the leader tape to contact the magnetic tape surface at the outermost circumference of the magnetic tape roll wound around the first small wind-up frame.
