A projection-type display device includes a first collimator lens configured to collimate a plurality of laser beams of a first wavelength, a first condenser lens, a second collimator lens configured to collimate a plurality of laser beams of a second wavelength, a second condenser lens, a light diffusing element, a first integrator illumination system configured to superimpose the laser beams of the first wavelength to form a rectangular irradiation region for the first wavelength, a second integrator illumination system configured to superimpose the laser beams of the second wavelength to form a rectangular irradiation region for the second wavelength, a first deflection unit, a second deflection unit, a transfer optical system configured to transfer the rectangular irradiation region for the first wavelength and the second wavelength to a reflective light modulation element, and a projection lens configured to project image light.

Projection-type display device

A projection display device includes a plurality of semiconductor lasers, a collimating lens, an integrator illumination system, a deflection element, a transfer optical system, and a projection lens. The collimating lens is configured to collimate a plurality of laser beams output from the plurality of semiconductor lasers. The integrator illumination system is configured to overlap the plurality of laser beams collimated by the collimating lens to form a rectangular illumination region. The deflection element is disposed at a position closer to the collimating lens than a position where the rectangular illumination region is formed by the integrator illumination system. The transfer optical system is configured to enlarge and transfer the rectangular illumination region deflection-scanned by the deflection element to a reflective optical modulation element. The projection lens is configured to project video light output from the reflective optical modulation element.

Projection display device

A light source device for a projection display apparatus includes a phosphor, an excitation light source, a surface-curved dichroic mirror having a curved surface in which a side on which excitation light is incident is convexly curved, and a converging lens between the surface-curved dichroic mirror and the phosphor. The excitation light source is configured to output the excitation light for exciting the phosphor. The surface-curved dichroic mirror is configured to cause the excitation light from the excitation light source to be reflected on the curved surface and fluorescence from the phosphor to pass through the curved surface. The surface-curved dichroic mirror neither substantially converges nor substantially diverges the light that passes through, but performs a diverging operation on the excitation light that is reflected on the curved surface so as to form a virtual image.

Light source device and projection type display apparatus

A light source device for a projection display apparatus includes a phosphor, an excitation light source, a surface-curved dichroic mirror, and a converging lens. The excitation light source is configured to output excitation light for exciting the phosphor. The surface-curved dichroic mirror has a curved surface and is configured to cause one of the excitation light from the excitation light source and fluorescence from the phosphor to pass through the curved surface and to cause the other of the excitation light and the fluorescence to be reflected on the curved surface. The surface-curved dichroic mirror is configured to cause the one of the excitation light and the fluorescence that passes through, neither to substantially converge, nor to substantially diverge, but converge the other of the excitation light and the fluorescence that is reflected.
