A motor includes a rotation shaft, a rotor, and a stator. The rotor includes a rotor core and magnetic pole portions respectively including permanent magnets embedded in the rotor core. The magnetic pole portions have polarities that differ alternately in a circumferential direction. A projection projecting radially outward from an outer circumferential portion of the rotor core is arranged between the magnetic pole portions having different polarities. In a radial opposing relationship of the rotor core and the teeth taken at different times while the rotor is revolved once, at a certain time, a quantity of the teeth that oppose one of the magnetic pole portions and do not oppose the projection is greater than a quantity of the teeth that simultaneously oppose two of the magnetic pole portions adjacent to each other in the circumferential direction and the projection located in between the magnetic pole portions.

Motor

A wiper device including a wiper motor that includes a rotor and a coil to generate a rotating magnetic field, and that causes a wiper blade to perform a wiping operation by rotating the rotor according to the rotating magnetic field, a drive section that drives rotation of the wiper motor by performing current switch-on in the coil so as to generate the rotating magnetic field, and a controller that controls the drive section by a timing for current switch-on in the coil based on at least a rotation position of the rotor.

Wiper device

When an operation signal of a view-obstructing material removal mode switch has been detected, a controller controls such that wiping operation is performed while spraying washer fluid toward the opposite side to a movement direction side of a wiper blade, after which a wiping operation in which washer fluid is not sprayed is performed.

Vehicle wiper device

A rotor of a motor includes first and second rotor cores, a field magnet, and a commutator magnet. The first and second rotor cores each include a core base and a plurality of claw poles. The claw poles of the first rotor core and the claw poles of the second rotor core are alternately arranged in a circumferential direction. The field magnet is located between the core bases. The field magnet is magnetized in an axial direction so that the claw poles of the first rotor core and the claw poles of the second rotor core function as different magnetic poles in the circumferential direction. The commutator magnet is located on an outer circumference of the field magnet around the claw poles. The commutator magnet is magnetized so that surfaces having the same polarity face each other between the claw poles and the commutator magnet.

A rotor has a rotor core arranged to radially face a stator. The rotor core has an accommodation hole extending axially from an axial end face of the rotor core. A magnet is received in the accommodation hole. A recess, which is dented in a direction separating from the magnet, is formed in an end surface of the accommodation hole. The recess has an opening facing the magnet. A pair of open distal portions are arranged at opposite sides of the opening and pressed against the magnet.

Rotor and method for manufacturing the rotor

An annular motor core has a plurality of split core pieces, each of which includes a yoke portion and a tooth. The split core pieces are circumferentially located and arranged in an annular shape such that the yoke portions of the core pieces form an annular shape as a whole and that the distal ends of the teeth of the core pieces face inward or outward each in a radial direction of the core. The core further includes an annular holder, which has joint portions at a plurality of positions in a circumferential direction of the holder. A first end of each of the core pieces is pivotably joined to the corresponding one of the joint portions. Each core piece can be pivoted about the corresponding joint portion relative to the holder such that a second end of the core piece moves in a radial direction of the holder.
