A liquid crystal panel () includes a plurality of pixels arranged in a matrix pattern having rows and columns. A plurality of Cs bus lines () as storage capacitor lines are routed in the row direction of the liquid crystal panel (). A plurality of branch lines () are routed in the column direction across a pixel region (). The branch lines () are connected to the Cs bus lines () so that control signals are sent to storage capacitors from the branch lines () through the Cs bus lines ().

Liquid crystal panel

The present invention provides a liquid crystal display panel capable of preventing the occurrence of display unevenness in the perimeter of the display area in the FFS mode. The liquid crystal display panel of the present invention includes a pair of substrates; a sealing material; and a liquid crystal layer enclosed by the pair of substrates and the sealing material. One of the pair of substrates includes a pixel electrode provided with multiple slits, and a flat plate-shaped common electrode located on a different layer from the pixel electrode, with an insulating film between the pixel electrode and the common electrode; a non-display area includes a gate driver, multiple gate lead-out wires extending from the gate driver toward a display area, and a common lead-out wire electrically connected to the common electrode; the common lead-out wire intersects the multiple gate lead-out wires; and the common electrode covers an area between the common lead-out wire intersecting the multiple gate lead-out wires and a part of the perimeter of the display area along the common lead-out wire.

Liquid crystal display panel

A liquid crystal display device () according to the present invention includes a plurality of pixels arrayed in a matrix, n number of the pixels (n is an even number of 4 or greater) being included in a color display pixel (CP). The liquid crystal display device includes an active matrix substrate () including a plurality of scanning lines () extending in a row direction and a plurality of signal lines () extending in a column direction; and a signal line driving circuit () that supplies, as a display signal, a gray scale voltage of a positive or negative polarity to each of the plurality of signal lines. The plurality of signal lines include a first type of signal line () which does not intersect another signal line, and a second type of signal line () which intersects a signal line adjacent thereto outside a display area in the state where an insulating film () is interposed therebetween. The active matrix substrate further includes a correction line () which is provided in the vicinity of an intersection region (IR) where the second type of signal line intersects the adjacent signal line, is electrically separated from the plurality of signal lines, and is at a floating potential.

Liquid crystal display device and display defect correction method

A liquid crystal display device includes a plurality of subpixels arranged in one column and n rows (where n is an even number &#x2267; four) within each pixel. In two of the pixels, which are adjacent to each other in the row direction, subpixels that represent the same color belong to the same row. If two of the pixels, which are adjacent to each other in the column direction, are called first and second pixels, respectively, a first half of the subpixels having a combination of first colors are located in odd-numbered rows in the first pixel and in even-numbered rows in the second pixel, while a second half of the subpixels having a combination of second colors, the second colors being different from the first colors, are located in even-numbered rows in the first pixel and in odd-numbered rows in the second pixel.

Liquid crystal display device including specific subpixel arrangement

An auxiliary capacitor line driving circuit (), provided in a surrounding region located around a display region (R) in a liquid crystal display panel, generates auxiliary capacitor driving signals, and includes: first and second voltage trunk lines (VCS, VCS) which carry two different voltages, respectively; at least one control signal line (VCTRL, VCTRL) carrying one control signal; and a plurality of TFTs (T, T, T, T) each alternately supplying, to the respective auxiliary capacitor lines (CSn, CSn+1, and the like) in a given cycle, the two different voltages supplied to the auxiliary capacitor line driving circuit (). Therefore, a liquid crystal display device employing multi-picture element drive method can be provided as a liquid crystal display device that achieves narrowing of a picture frame region as a non-display region and an external circuit board.

A liquid crystal display device according to the present invention includes: a plurality of pixels that are arranged in rows and columns so as to form a matrix pattern; and TFTs (TFT-A, TFT-B and TFT-C), source bus lines, gate bus lines and CS bus lines (CS-A and CS-B), which are associated with the respective pixels. Each pixel includes at least three subpixels (SP-A, SP-B and SP-C) with liquid crystal capacitors that are able to retain mutually different voltages. By supplying a signal (CS-A or CS-B) that makes two of the at least three subpixels display mutually different luminances at least at a certain grayscale tone from the source, gate and CS bus lines to each pixel, the at least three subpixels are able to display mutually different luminances.

A color filter substrate in which the heights of columnar spacers can be arbitrarily controlled by a simple manufacturing process, and a liquid crystal display device including such a color filter substrate are provided. The color filter substrate includes a transparent substrate, a light-shield layer and a color filter layer provided on the transparent substrate, columnar spacers sticking out of the transparent substrate, and a protrusion to control the orientation of liquid crystal molecules. The color filter layer includes first, second and third color filters transmitting light rays in different colors. The columnar spacers include first and second types of columnar spacers with different heights. Each spacer of the first type includes a first lower structure, including at least one layer made of the same film as at least one of the first, second and third color filters and the light-shield layer, and a first upper structure, including a layer made of the same film as the protrusion. Each spacer of the second type includes a second lower structure, including at least one layer made of the same film as at least one of the first, second and third color filters and the light-shield layer, and a second upper structure, including a layer made of a resin.
