A diagnostic apparatus of a hybrid vehicle includes an internal combustion engine, an electricity storage device, a motor generating a driving force for a vehicle travel using at least electricity from the electricity storage device, a diagnostic unit diagnosing a vehicle state when an output of the internal combustion engine is zero, a state detection unit detecting a state of the electricity storage device, a remaining time acquisition unit acquiring a remaining time required until diagnostic completion, when the vehicle state is diagnosed by the diagnostic unit, a determination unit determining whether or not the diagnosis of the vehicle state is continued by the diagnostic unit, based on the state of the electricity storage device and the remaining time when the vehicle state is diagnosed by the diagnostic unit, and a control unit that controls continuation or stop of the vehicle state diagnosis according to the determination result.

Diagnostic apparatus and diagnostic method of hybrid vehicle

A diagnostic apparatus of a hybrid vehicle having an internal combustion engine, a motor, and a diagnostic unit that diagnoses a vehicle state by motoring the internal combustion engine using the motor in a zero output state. A detection unit detects a required driving force of a driver. A determination unit determines whether or not a remaining time required until a diagnostic completion is a predetermined time or less, in a case where the required driving force with a predetermined lower limit value or more is detected by the required driving force detection unit when the vehicle state is diagnosed by the diagnostic unit. A control device causes the motor to output the driving force, when the remaining time is the predetermined time or less, and continues the vehicle state diagnosis using the diagnostic unit by motoring the engine when the output of the internal combustion engine is zero.

An air fuel ratio controller for an internal combustion engine includes an exhaust gas sensor, an identifier and a control unit. The exhaust gas sensor detects oxygen concentration of exhaust gas. The identifier calculates model parameters for a model of a controlled object based on the output of the exhaust gas sensor. The controlled object includes an exhaust system of the engine. The control unit is configured to use the model parameters to control the air-fuel ratio so that the output of the exhaust gas sensor converges to a desired value, and to stop the identifier from calculating the model parameters during and immediately after the engine operation with a lean air-fuel ratio. The calculation of the model parameters may be also stopped during and immediately after fuel-cut operation that stops fuel supply to the engine. Such a stop of the calculation of the model parameters reduces the emission of undesired substances contained in exhaust gas when the engine shifts from lean operation to stoichiometric/rich operation.

A method and an apparatus for predicting intake manifold pressure are presented, to compensate for a large lag or a large time delay without producing an overshot or discontinuous behaviors of a predicted value. The method comprises the step of obtaining a difference of values of a variable to be predicted and a difference of values of another variable ahead of the variable to be predicted. The method further comprises the step of filtering the differences with adaptive filters. The method further comprises the step of obtaining a predicted difference of values of the variable to be predicted, through algorithm of estimation with fuzzy reasoning. The method further comprises the step of adding the predicted difference of values of the variable to be predicted, to a current value of the variable to be predicted, to obtain a predicted value of the variable to be predicted.

Method and an apparatus for predicting intake manifold pressure of an internal-combustion engine

A vehicle controller for controlling the air-fuel ratio of an engine is provided. In one embodiment, the controller comprises a first exhaust gas sensor provided downstream of the catalyst for detecting oxygen concentration of exhaust gas, a first decimation filter connected to the first exhaust gas sensor, and a control unit connected to the first decimation filter. The control unit determines a manipulated variable for manipulating the air-fuel ratio. The first decimation filter oversamples, low-pass filters and then downsamples the output of the first exhaust gas sensor. The first decimation filter can remove chemical noise from the output of the exhaust gas sensor. In another embodiment, a second decimation filter is connected to a second exhaust gas sensor provided upstream of the catalyst for detecting the air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas. The second decimation filter oversamples, low-pass filters and then downsamples the output of the second exhaust gas sensor. The second decimation filter can compensate the shortage of resolution of the air-fuel ratio sensor.
