A disk-shaped rotary blade of a slitter blade assembly has a cutting edge and a first beveled surface facing a drum-shaped rotary blade of the slitter blade assembly and progressively spaced from the drum-shaped rotary blade toward the cutting edge. The disk-shaped rotary blade also has a second beveled surface facing a workpiece to be cut off and progressively spaced from the cutting edge away from the workpiece.

A winding device has a drive shaft having a flange, and a holder rotatably mounted on the drive shaft in covering relation to the flange, for winding the web therearound. The holder has a first torque adjustment plate rotatably mounted on the drive shaft and having a surface disposed in facing relation to a surface of the flange, the first torque adjustment plate supporting a plurality of magnets on the surface thereof, and a second torque adjustment plate rotatably mounted on the drive shaft and having a surface disposed in facing relation to an opposite surface of the flange, the second torque adjustment plate supporting a plurality of magnets on the surface thereof. The winding device is capable of winding relatively wide webs having a large thickness ranging from 100 to 150 &#x3bc;m, e.g., photographic photosensitive webs (films), with a low tension fluctuation ratio of &#xb1;5% or less, while producing large tension easily and stably. The winding device is constructed for easy maintenance.

Web processing system

Continuous photo film includes a support of resin film having a back surface. A photosensitive layer of photographic emulsion is disposed on a surface of the support opposite to the back surface. A conveying roller conveys the continuous photo film. The conveying roller includes a roller body of metal. A hardness reinforcer layer is formed on a surface of the roller body by thermal spraying of ceramic or cermet, so that the roller body surface is prevented from being scratched or ground by the back surface of the film.

Conveying roller for photosensitive material and method of producing the same

A Brownie film is wound about a spool such that a leader covers outside. A filmstrip has first and second lateral side portions. Upon manufacturing the filmstrip, film information is printed as latent images in the first lateral side portion. The first lateral side portion comes to upper side of the filmstrip when the filmstrip is pulled from the spool to leftward, viewed from a base surface side of the filmstrip. A data exposure head of the camera imprints photographic information as individual printing patterns.

In a production process of a photo film cartridge, data relating to respective components and data obtained during the production process is written in an IC memory that is mounted to a cartridge shell of the photo film cartridge. The data written in the IC memory is read out at later stages of the production process for use in controlling production of the photo film cartridge. The data is at least partly maintained stored in the IC memory after the shipment, for use in tracing production history of the photo film cartridge. When a photo film cartridge having an IC memory is for use in a lens-fitted photo film unit, unit type data indicating the type of the film unit are written in the IC memory before loading the photo film cartridge in the film unit. The unit type data is read out from the IC memory to choose a proper type of packaging materials for the film unit before a unit body of the film unit is wrapped and packed in the packaging materials.

Method of controlling a production process and recycle of photo film cartridge or lens-fitted photo film unit

A photo filmstrip (14) of a regular length (L) is produced from photo film web (45) having a predetermined width (W). The photo filmstrip and the photo film web have a back surface, an emulsion surface, a pair of lateral edge faces (45a), and four corner edges (45b, 45c) defined between the back surface, the emulsion surface, and the lateral edge faces. At least one of the lateral edge faces and at least one of the corner edges of the photo film web are abraded while the photo film web is conveyed. Photo film dust, created in the abrasion is eliminated from the photo film web. Perforations (34) are formed in the photo film web. The photo film web is cut by the regular length into the photo filmstrip, which is wound into a cassette shell.

Method and apparatus for producing photo filmstrip

An apparatus for overturning a long-web roll comprises chucks for holding the long-web roll, which is placed on a first resting surface, by nipping an outer circumference of the long-web roll from both sides in the radial direction, and stop plates capable of being set at supporting positions that stand facing a front end face of the long-web roll, which is held by the chucks, the front end face being directed towards the side of a second resting surface. A rotating transfer device rotates the stop plates and the chucks together with each other by an angle of approximately 90.degree. and thereby places the long-web roll, which is held by the chucks, on the second resting surface such that the front end face may rest on the second resting surface. After the rotating transfer device begins operating, a device moves the chucks with respect to the stop plates, which are set at the supporting positions, in the direction along the wind-up axis of the long-web roll and thereby brings the front end face of the long-web roll into contact with the stop plates.

Apparatus for overturning long-web rolls

This invention depicts a web winding apparatus for winding belt-like materials (webs) such as plastic films, paper, thin metallic strips, which are slit to a predetermined width by a slitter. This web winding apparatus has at least one winder unit detachably mounted to a main body of winding apparatus. The or each of the winder units includes a support beam detachably mounted to the main body of winding apparatus, a plurality of pairs of arms provided on the support beam, for holding reels to wind slit webs from opposite sides and winding tension generators provided on the support beam corresponding in number to the reels, for giving a winding tension to the reels. A plurality of winder units are prepared in advance having the aforesaid arrangement, having various arm intervals arranged to accommodate to the widths of the slit, whereby winder units corresponding to the widths of webs are mounted to the winding apparatus. Since the arms secured to the winder unit are of stationary type, the winding quality of the product roll is satisfactory and a change in the width of web can be easily accommodated.
