In the method for forming barrier ribs of a plasma display panel, a light-transmissive substrate having a predetermined pattern of a light-tight material formed on a surface and a photosensitive material layer bonded on the pattern is exposed to light from the rear surface of the light-transmissive substrate and developed so as to fabricate a master in which convex portions in a rib configuration are formed on the light-transmissive substrate. By using the master, a transfer mold for barrier ribs is fabricated. A rib material is filled in concave portions of the transfer mold and transferred onto a substrate for a PDP, thereby forming barrier ribs on the substrate for the PDP.
