An information delivery system includes terminals receiving data via a satellite-communication system, and a user center having a destination-conversion table which lists a satellite-system receiver ID with respect to each ground-network address of the terminals, and, upon receiving a request for data delivery via an intra-network, obtaining satellite-system receiver IDs from ground-network addresses indicated as destinations of the data delivery by referring to the destination-conversion table so as to deliver requested data and a reception-control program to the destinations via the satellite-communication system. The terminals use the reception-control program to check the data-reception conditions when receiving the requested data and the reception-control program, and send a request for a repeat of the data delivery to the user center via the intra-network if the data-reception conditions are not satisfactory.

Facsimile mail apparatus

A facsimile mail system including subscriber terminals, an exchange and a facsimile mail apparatus. Given a request from a subscriber terminal for connection to the facsimile mail apparatus, the exchange adds an originator identification number to that necessary information about a mail service which is entered from the subscriber terminal. The necessary information supplemented by the originator identification number is transferred from the exchange to the facsimile mail apparatus where the information is converted to a mail function code for internal processing. As per internally stored information, the facsimile mail apparatus decides whether or not to permit the connection. When the connection is permitted, a connection enable response is returned to the exchange. In turn, the exchange establishes a line connection between the subscriber terminal in question and the facsimile mail apparatus.

Facsimile mail system

A mail center management system includes a first network accommodating a plurality of subscriber terminals via lines, and a plurality of mail devices connected to the first network. Each of the mail devices, which has a device number and subscriber information about all the subscriber terminals, includes a storage medium for storing mails received from the subscriber terminals. A second network connects the mail devices to each other and transfers the mails between the mail devices. Each of the mail devices includes a first part for determining whether a request to transfer from a first one of the subscriber terminals to a second one of the subscriber terminals includes a subscriber number of the second one of the subscriber terminals or the device number of one of the mail devices together with the subscriber number. Further, each of the mail devices includes a second part for storing, via the second network, the mail in the storage medium of one of the mail devices to which the first and second ones of the subscriber terminals are connected when the first means determines that the request includes no device number and for storing, via the first and second networks, the mail in the storage medium of one of the mail devices to which the second one of the mail devices is connected when the first means determines that the request includes the device number together with the subscriber number.

Mail center management system

A facsimile mail system capable of investigating the nature of any facsimile mail system errors based on push-button signal designation or optical mark reader sheet designation, and of readily checking communication lines for line quality. The system comprises a line processing portion for making, receiving and terminating calls to and from a telephone exchange, and an access managing portion for determining if a call-requested facsimile mail service is to be honored. The facsimile mail system further comprises a designation managing portion for storing into a magnetic disk storage the information obtained from the push-button signal or from the optical mark reader sheet upon facsimile communication, and a designation verification command portion for using its commands to retrieve information from the magnetic disk storage and to display the retrieved information on a display unit.

Facsimile mail system capable of managing facsimile mail designation

An electronic mail processing device includes a magnetic disk with a control table. The device establishes a line between an originating terminal and a destination terminal designated by the originating terminal as a destination of electronic mail information and enters the destination into the control table provided on the magnetic disk as a wrong destination when the destination terminal performs no prescribed response operation to receive the electronic mail information. No electronic mail information is delivered to any of destinations entered into the control table. Thereby, once a destination is stored in the control table, a line is never connected to the destination terminal again, which prevents repeated wrong calls from being made to the same terminal.

Electronic mail system for transmitting information via communication

A facsimile mail system comprising mail center equipment, a plurality of telephone sets connected to the mail center equipment via lines and a telephone exchange, and a plurality of facsimile machines each connected to the respective telephone sets. Conditions for distributing received facsimile information are set beforehand per calling line. If facsimile information is transmitted by designation of a push-button signal, the information is distributed according to the instructions designated by the push-button signal; if facsimile information is transmitted by designation of an optical mark reader sheet, the information is distributed according to the instructions designated by that sheet. If neither push-button signal designation nor optical mark reader sheet designation is provided, the received information is automatically distributed as per the distribution conditions previously established for the calling line in question.

Facsimile mail system with mail center equipment

The kind of medium owned by a user is stored in a service center system and a medium is determined by a request from the transmitting side in accordance with an inquiry to a receiver. Where a voice is used as a medium for the inquiry or the service, the sound piece data to which a descriptor is added and the sentence structure data for forming a single sentence by collecting the sound piece data and formed by a descriptor are stored. When the voice output request is produced, the sound piece data is obtained from the sentence structure data, thereby producing a voice of a desired sentence.

An optical composite transceiver for a bus type local area network (LAN) system using a U-shaped or S-shaped optical fiber cable as a one-way transmission line, and using a carrier sense multiple access/collision detection (CSMA/CD) method and a half duplex communication method, the optical composite transceiver includes: optical couplers for sending and branching data to and from the optical fiber cable; an electric-to-optical converter and an optical-to-electric converter for converting an electric signal to an optical signal and an optical signal to an electric signal; an inner coaxial cable provided within the optical composite transceiver; a plurality of coaxial transceivers connected to the inner coaxial cable; and a control unit having access functions for sending and receiving data, and a collision detection function, and operatively connected to one of the inner coaxial transceivers.

Optical composite transceiver

An optical communication system including repeaters which return a preamble signal to the receive line as soon as it detects a carrier on the transmit line of a single line optical bus. Therefore, transmission equipment can confirm data transmission quickly because the time delay between data transmission and its confirmation is decreased. The repeater also monitors a time delay associated with the return through a return loop of the transmitted data, and produces and transmits a failure signal when the time delay is longer than a predetermined value. The system also includes an optical transceiver connected between the optical bus and the transmission equipment which converts optical signals into electrical signals and visa versa and also adds the preamble signal to the front of data to be transmitted.
