A line concentrator and external devices wherein data transmitted from external devices within a system and wherein the processing of the received data can be efficiently executed without increasing load on the network is provided. A print system includes a printer hub, a shared printer and a shared MFP. The printer hub includes a switching hub for receiving data from another network and a repeater hub located in the downstream of the switching hum. The switching hub transmits the received data only to designated ones among the connected devices, and transmits the received data to the repeater hub. The repeater hub transmits the data, which is supplied from the switching hub, to all of the image forming apparatuses (shared printer and shared MFP) included in the print system.

A printer apparatus which includes a data processing system for forming an output image data DI in a page unit by analyzing a print data DO inputted from an external device, and an image forming system for printing an image corresponding to the output image data DI on a paper sheet, in which, upon occurrence of a trouble which is related to the image forming system and by which sending of the output image data DI to the image forming system should be retained, the data processing system memorizes the print data DO through compression, and after disappearance of the trouble, expands the print data DO in the compressed state for use in the formation of the output image data DI.

An image forming apparatus including a bit map data generating section for generating binary dot data for each color from image data, an image memory for storing the dot data, an edge dot discriminating section for discriminating edge dots positioned in an edge section, such as a curved-line section, a slanted-line section of characters, graphics, photo images, etc. in dot data for black stored in the image memory, and a dot modulating circuit for modulating the dot data so that the edge dots and printing dots other than black ones become smaller than black printing dots other than the edge dots. With this arrangement, since linear tone can be obtained even in a section with a deep color, excellent tone can be obtained in multi-color printing such as full-color printing. Therefore, reproducibility of tone of binarized image data can be improved, and jaggedness in an edge section can be improved so as to have a smooth line.

Image forming apparatus

An image forming apparatus for forming images corresponding to image data transmitted from external device by storing the image data in a bit map memory in a bit form and read it out of the bit map memory for printing. When the image data is written to said bit map memory or when the image data is read out of said bit map memory, the image forming apparatus is controlled to switch image orientation recorded on the recording paper with respect to the discharge direction thereof so as to sort recording paper in response to selection of said external device or every series of image data.
