An antenna device includes an antenna array, an antenna adapter, a radome, a skirt, and a heat pipe. The antenna adapter holds the antenna array including an antenna element that transmits or receives a communication radio wave along a mobile body surface. The radome is disposed so as to cover the antenna adapter. The skirt shields a gap between the radome and the mobile body surface from flowing outside air, and radiates heat from the antenna adapter to an outside of the antenna device. In the antenna adapter, the heat pipe including an evaporator and a condenser is disposed to extend from the antenna array toward the skirt.

Antenna device

A 3D video system is disclosed. The 3D video system includes a frame rate converter that stores an input video signal in a rate conversion frame memory included in the frame rate converter, then reads and outputs the input video signal at a doubled clock rate, a signal format converter that converts a pixel sequence of the video signal output from the frame rate converter and outputs the converted video signal, a controller that outputs a timing signal based on the converted video signal, 3D glasses that transmit light alternately to left and right eyes, and switch the transmission of the light to the left and right eyes, based on the converted video signal and the outputted timing signal, and a spatial modulator that spatially modulates light emitted from a light source, based on the converted video signal. The 3D video system enables the modulated light to be viewed stereoscopically.

Image display apparatus and method

A liquid crystal display device is provided with a liquid crystal cell member, a light regulating member, a reflective polarizing member, and a control unit. The liquid crystal cell member has a first liquid crystal layer. An optical transmittance of the light regulating member changes with the application state of a second voltage. The reflective polarizing member transmits specific polarized light and reflects other polarized light. The polarization direction of light that is incident on the reflective polarizing member from the first liquid crystal layer is the same as the polarization direction of light transmitted by the reflective polarizing member. The control unit alters the application state of the second voltage in such a manner that the transmittance of the light regulating member when a backlight unit is on is higher than the transmittance of the light regulating member when the backlight unit is off.

Liquid crystal display device

An image display apparatus for displaying a 3D video signal using a liquid crystal device such as an HIPS or LCOS device comprises a frame rate converter () that converts the input video signal to a doubled frame rate, a signal format converter () that converts the pixel sequence of the video signal, a light source controller () that outputs a light source control signal for turning the light source used for image display on and off, and a 3D glasses controller () that generates a glasses control signal (c) for shutters (R,L) that switch the transmission of the light to the right and left eyes of 3D glasses (). Transition periods (h) are deemed to occur when, for example, the absolute value of a gradation change in the second image signal is greater than a first predetermined threshold value (S) and less than a second predetermined threshold value S(&#x3c;S). Motion blur in the image signal can be detected without increased circuit size, and accordingly, the detected motion blur can be reduced.

In an image displaying apparatus, first and second detecting units detect quantities of light propagating through a light path at two different locations. A block noise detector has a spatial difference calculator that calculates differences between values of adjacent pixels. A spatial difference comparator detects edges by comparing the calculated differences. Eight counters count edges detected at different groups of positions spaced eight pixels apart in each horizontal line. The maximum count and the group of positions at which it occurs are detected at the end of each horizontal line to detect block noise and the positions of the block boundaries. A first edge width correction process () is carried out in which edge widths are corrected by an interpolation process using zoom ratio control values (RZC) generated according to the edge widths in image data; an enlargement processing process () that enlarges the image data with edge widths corrected by the first edge width correction process () is carried out; a second edge width correction process () similar to the first edge width correction process is carried out on the enlarged image data; and an edge enhancement process that enhances edges in the image data with edge widths corrected by the second edge width correction process is carried out.
