An optical transmission device configured to: receive an input of signal interruption information from a second optical transmission device that detects a signal interruption of signal light on a transmission path, and to receive an input of ASE light after the signal interruption, has a wavelength selective switch configured to drop and/or add signal light; a memory; and a processor coupled to the memory. The processor is configured to: switch, based on the input of the signal interruption information from the second optical transmission device, control of output of the wavelength selective switch from a constant level control of the output, to a constant level control of attenuation for holding an amount of the attenuation of the signal light constant; and return the constant level control of the attenuation to the constant level control of the output, after the input of the ASE light.

An optical transmission apparatus includes: a wavelength selecting switch, including an input port and an output port having more ports than the input port, configured to perform an adjustment of a level of an optical signal from the input port to the output port; a first monitor configured to monitor the level of the optical signal at the input port unit; a second monitor configured to monitor the level of the optical signal at the output port unit; and a controller configured to control the wavelength selecting switch wherein the controller: calculates a virtual output value for the output port unit based on a first monitor result from the first monitoring unit, a second monitor result from the second monitoring unit, and a current adjustment value for the adjustment function; calculates a new adjustment value based on the virtual output value; and sets the new adjustment value to the adjustment.

Optical transmission apparatus and level adjusting method

An optical transmission device includes: a reception unit configured to receive a plurality of light beams and wavelength allocation information of optical signals included in each of the light beams; a demultiplexing unit configured to demultiplex the plurality of light beams received; a plurality of switches configured to switch between transmitting or blocking with respect to the demultiplexed plurality of light beams; a multiplexing unit configured to multiplex light beams transmitted from the plurality of switches; a monitoring unit configured to monitor an intensity of the multiplexed light beams; and a controller configured to, based on the wavelength allocation information, obtain a combination of the light beams not including the optical signals having overlapping wavelengths, and control the plurality of switches in accordance with the combination.
