A liquid crystal display includes: a liquid-crystal-display device; a display control circuit; a backlight device; and a light-emitting-diode control circuit that adjusts luminance of the backlight device using a pulse width modulation signal as an output to the white light emitting diode. Gradation correction data corresponding to a chromaticity variation due to a duty ratio of the pulse width modulation signal is stored in the display control circuit in advance, the display control circuit determines the gradation correction data corresponding to input image data input to the liquid crystal display, based on the input image data and the duty ratio, and the display control circuit outputs output image data, which is calculated so as to correct the chromaticity variation based on the gradation correction data and the input image data, as the image signal to the liquid-crystal-display device.

Liquid crystal display

A display device includes a point light source; a light source substrate; a rear frame including a first side wall and a bottom, the light source substrate being disposed at an inner surface of the first side wall; and a front frame engaged with the rear frame and including a second side wall that faces the first side wall. The first side wall and the second side wall respectively have a first through hole and a second through hole through which a screw is inserted. The light source substrate has a screw hole to be screwed with the screw and is located only at a position corresponding to the first through hole and the second through hole. The light source substrate is fixed by the screw that is inserted into the first through hole and the second through hole and is screwed into the screw hole.

Display device and liquid crystal display device

In a liquid crystal display apparatus, it is a liquid crystal display apparatus comprising a liquid crystal panel for forming an image by a video signal from the outside, a light source substrate comprising at least one point-like light source, and a cabinet to which the light source substrate is attached, and light emitted from the point-like light source illuminates the liquid crystal panel and the light source substrate is constructed detachably from the outside of the cabinet in a direction of a surface opposite to a display surface of the liquid crystal panel and thereby the light source substrate is constructed detachably without disassembling the liquid crystal display apparatus.

Liquid crystal display apparatus and electronic equipment

A surface light source device includes two or more point light sources that are arranged linearly, a light guide plate having an incident surface on which light emitted from each of the point light sources shines, for outputting input light from a front surface thereof, and light diffusing means provided on a back surface of the light guide plate, for diffusing light. The incident surface of the light guide plate is inclined toward a back side.

Surface light source device

The present invention provides a surface light source device capable of reducing luminance non-uniformity near point light sources and near between the point light sources adjacent to each other, and a display device of high display quality. The surface light source device includes: a plurality of LEDs arranged at a predetermined spacing; a light guide plate that emits, as a surface light, light emitted from the point light sources and entered into at least one side surface, through a light emission surface perpendicular to a light incident surface; reflecting sheets disposed respectively on a light anti-emission surface and near the LEDs in the light guide plate; and a casing having an opening part at a location corresponding to the light emission surface of the light guide plate, and holding the LEDs and the light guide plate and the reflecting sheets. The surface light source device further includes, near between the LEDs adjacent to each other, light introducing means for introducing the light emitted from the LEDs into the light emission surface or the light anti-emission surface.

Surface light source device and display device using same

A planar light-source device is obtained in which, in the space between a point light source and the peripheral portion of a through-hole in a case, rays that leak into or are absorbed into a space outside a hollow region can be reduced, whereby the number of rays that propagate into the hollow region can be increased. A point light source is installed from outside a case, through through-holes formed in the case and a reflection sheet, and a reflector formed on the reflection sheet to correspond to the point light source is slanted with respect to the bottom side of the case, depthward along the through-hole, in a region enclosed by the peripheral portion of the through-hole of the case and by the point light source.

Planar light-source device

The present invention aims to provide a plane light source device having enhanced efficiency of use of light and high brightness uniformity. A plane light source device of the present invention is provided with a housing having an opening section, a scattering plate arranged at the opening section for scattering incoming light and a light source arranged at one side face in the housing, wherein a regular reflection section for regularly reflecting light incoming from the light source is provided in the vicinity of the light source at the bottom surface of the housing that is opposite to the scattering plate and a scatter reflection section for irregularly reflecting light incoming from the light source is provided so as to be adjacent to the regular reflection section.

Plane light source device and display device provided with the same

To obtain a planar light source which is free from brightness variations or chromaticity variations by using a point light source having a high directivity for emitted light, and to provide a liquid crystal display device capable of obtaining superior display characteristics by using this planar light source device. A planar light source device having an opening in the upper surface comprises a hollow box, a diffusion plate disposed in the opening, a reflecting plate disposed on the bottom of the hollow region of the box, and a plurality of point light sources disposed in a row along at least one side surface of the box. This planar light sources device is characterized by including a refracting element disposed parallel to the row of point light sources and between the point light sources and the hollow region for refracting the light from the point light sources, whereby the light at an incident angle at which the brightness is greatest in the luminous intensity distribution of the light radiated to the irradiation subject surface of the refracting element is refracted to the bottom surface of the box by the refracting element.

Planar light source device and display device using the same

To replace an old lamp unit, first, resilient projections are pushed outward through engaging holes of a resin frame with some tool and the lamp unit is pulled out through a lamp unit guide hole. Then, a new lamp unit is inserted with the resilient projections deformed to the lamp side by utilizing their resiliency. When the lamp unit is inserted to the regular position, the projections are opposed to the respective engaging holes of the resin frame and return to their original shapes because of their resiliency to go into the respective holes. As a result, the lamp unit is positioned with respect to the resin frame and fixed to the latter. Even when external impact acts on the liquid crystal display device, the lamp unit does not fall off.

Flat display device

A liquid crystal display capable of following behavior of a liquid crystal panel and securely grounding a driving circuit substrate to a metal box member is obtained. In the liquid crystal display possessing the metal box member , a mold box member with a back light source, and the driving circuit substrate for driving the liquid crystal panel held by these two cage bodies, wherein the driving circuit substrate is held between a convex portion formed in one of the two cage bodies and an elastic pressing portion formed in the other box member, the driving circuit substrate is grounded to the metal box member through this holding portion, and the driving circuit substrate is held without being secured.
