A reactive power compensation device includes a power converter and a converter control unit, and compensates reactive power of an AC power grid by output reactive power of the power converter. The converter control unit includes an AC voltage detection unit and an output limit unit. The AC voltage detection unit detects voltage information of the AC power grid to which the power converter is connected. The output limit unit determines whether or not the output reactive power of the power converter needs to be limited, on the basis of the voltage information detected by the AC voltage detection unit, and in a case where the output reactive power needs to be limited, limits the output reactive power of the power converter.

Reactive power compensation device

A control device for an active filter connected in parallel with a load at an installation point with respect to an AC power supply provided in a power system includes a harmonic voltage detector to detect an m-order harmonic voltage (m is an integer not less than two) included in a voltage of the installation point, a phase corrector to correct a phase of the detected m-order harmonic voltage in accordance with whether an m-order harmonic impedance when an AC power supply side is seen from the installation point is capacitive or inductive, a command value generator to generate a first compensation command value for compensating for the m-order harmonic voltage included in the voltage of the installation point based on the m-order harmonic voltage after the correction, and an output controller to control an output of the active filter based on a first compensation command value.

Control device and active filter apparatus

Since a power converter including a modular multilevel converter uses a large number of cells each combining a plurality of switching elements and a DC capacitor, there is a problem of conduction loss due to the switching elements. The conduction loss is reduced by connecting a bypass circuit between terminals of each of the cells, controlling to open and close the switching element, and controlling to short-circuit the bypass circuit connected to the cell controlled to output zero voltage.

Power converter

When switching operations of converter cells are stopped due to temporary voltage reduction in an AC system, a voltage determination unit performs determination regarding a voltage of each DC capacitor after a predetermined period has passed, and a charge control unit transmits a charging gate signal, via a gate control unit, to select a converter cell at a voltage level at which a self-feeding circuit of the converter cell is operable. Thus, a DC capacitor of a converter cell whose voltage is lower than the voltage level at which a self-feeding circuit is operable is charged, thereby enabling switching operations of all the converter cells.

Power conversion device

A power conversion device includes: a positive arm and a negative arm each of which is formed by connecting a plurality of converter cells in series, the converter cells each being composed of a plurality of semiconductor switching elements and a DC capacitor; and a control circuit. An arm balance control unit in the control circuit calculates a first voltage adjustment value for balancing voltage of the DC capacitors in the positive arm and voltage of the DC capacitors in the negative arm. The control circuit adjusts an AC control command using the first voltage adjustment value, thereby calculating an AC voltage command for AC voltage to be outputted to an AC line for each phase.

In a reactive power compensation device, a control unit controls a magnitude of reactive power to be output by a reactive power output unit, based on a detected system voltage and one or more control parameters in a first operation mode. In a second operation mode, the control unit changes the magnitude of the reactive power to be output by the reactive power output unit to a power system in an output change period, calculates system impedances of the power system at a plurality of detection time points within the output change period, based on change amounts of the system voltage detected at the plurality of detection time points and corresponding change amounts of the reactive power, and, when a variation in the calculated system impedances is within an acceptable range, adjusts the one or more control parameters, based on the calculated system impedances.

Reactive power compensation device having function of detecting system impedance

A first SVC is connected to a first bus. A first SVC control unit controls the first SVC. A first fluctuation-component-voltage generating unit includes a voltage reference circuit that outputs a voltage reference value. A second SVC is connected to a second bus. A second SVC control unit controls the second SVC. A second fluctuation-component-voltage generating unit includes a first-order-lag control block with limiter that generates a comparative voltage that follows a bus voltage of the second bus with a predetermined time lag characteristic and is limited within a predetermined range. An impedance value XSof slope reactance of the first SVC is set smaller than impedance value XSof slope reactance of the second SVC.

Reactive power compensator

A flicker improvement effect evaluating system evaluates an effect of improvement of voltage flicker in a power system to which a static reactive power compensator is to be introduced. A system voltage operating unit operates a compensation current and a system impedance of the power system, based on actually measured data of system voltage and load current read from a data reading unit. Based on the results of operations and the actually measured data, a not-yet-improved system voltage at present and an improved system voltage attained when the static reactive power compensator is provided on a bus are simulated. By a flicker meter, flicker values of the not-yet-improved system voltage and improved system voltage amplified by an amplifying circuit are measured, and from the flicker values, the rate of improvement attained by the static reactive power compensator is operated.
