A gas sensor control device for controlling a gas sensor, the gas sensor including a gas sensor element that includes a cell including a pair of electrodes and a solid electrolyte, the gas sensor control device including a circuit board connectable to the gas sensor. The circuit board has mounted thereon a voltage control unit mounted on the circuit board and configured to control a voltage developed across a pair of electrodes of the cell to a constant voltage; a temperature detecting unit mounted on the circuit board and configured to detect a temperature of the circuit board; and a voltage correcting unit mounted on the circuit board and configured to apply a correction voltage to the voltage control unit compensating for a temperature-dependent variation in the constant voltage based on the temperature detected by the temperature detecting unit.

Gas sensor control device

An NOsensor control apparatus () is connected to an NOsensor () which includes a first pumping cell () and a second pumping cell () through which a second pumping current flows corresponding to an NOconcentration in a to-be-measured gas. The NOsensor control apparatus () includes a first pumping current detection unit; a second pumping current detection unit; an oxygen concentration calculation unit () for calculating oxygen concentration on the basis of the first pumping current and corrected in accordance with the pressure of the to-be-measured gas, oxygen (first) pressure correction information set for the NOsensor, and pressure information; and an NOconcentration calculation unit () for calculating NOconcentration on the basis of the first pumping current and corrected in accordance with pressure of the to-be-measured gas, NO(second) pressure correction information set for the NOsensor, and pressure information.

Sensor apparatus having a sensor connected to a circuit board connected to external terminals

There is provided a control device for a gas sensor. The gas sensor is formed with first and second oxygen pumping cells to define first and second measurement chambers. Under the control of the sensor control device, the first and second oxygen pumping cells effect oxygen pumping actions against the first and second measurement chambers, respectively. The sensor control device is configured to detect currents through the first and second oxygen pumping cells, calculate a correction coefficient by comparison of a detection value of the first oxygen pumping cell current at a known oxygen concentration period with a previously stored reference value, correct the first oxygen pumping cell current by the correction coefficient and determine the concentration of nitrogen oxide in the gas under measurement based on the corrected first oxygen pumping cell current and the detected second oxygen pumping cell current.

An engine preheating apparatus in which an actuation circuit for a glow plug mounted in the engine is provided with a starting resistor of barium titanate of which the resistance value abruptly increases at a specific temperature, and a normal-operation resistor connected in parallel to the starting resistor. When the starting resistor is low in temperature and hence has a small resistance value, a large current is supplied to the glow plug, whereas when the starting resistor is high in temperature and therefore has a high resistance, a comparatively small current is supplied to the glow plug through the normal-operation resistor. The starting resistor is comprised of plural resistor elements of barium titanate as a main component and plural electrode plates alternately pressed one on each other. Each of the electrode plates is in pressure contact with each of heat radiators, so that the heat generated by the resistor elements is radiated from the radiators through the electrode plates. The time constant of the resistor elements is determined by the shape of that portion of the electrode plate which is connected to the radiator.

Engine preheating apparatus

A parallel circuit of an ordinary resistor exhibiting an ordinary resistance characteristic and a starting resistor abruptly increasing its resistance at a certain temperature is inserted between glow plugs in a Diesel engine and a battery. The resistance of the starting resistor is smaller than that of the ordinary resistor at a normal temperature. The resistance of the starting resistor becomes larger than that of the ordinary resistor when a large amount of current flows through the starting resistor. Therefore, current flows from the battery to the glow plugs mainly through the starting resistor at first, and then it flows mainly through the ordinary resistor. The ordinary resistor is disposed in an intake air passage of the engine.

Preheating apparatus for diesel engines

An apparatus for detecting the collision of a vehicle to produce a signal indicating the collision, which signal is adapted to actuate a safety device, such an apparatus having a pair of rotatable rigid members defining therebetween a space in which disposed is a stationary contact adapted to cooperate with a movable contact carried by the rigid members. Spring means are provided for biasing the rigid members in one rotational direction against a rotational force caused by deceleration of the vehicle. The rigid members are provided with a massive weight so as to make the gravitational center eccentric from the rotational axis thereof, thereby an enhanced sensitivity to the deceleration is obtained.

Switch for detecting collision of vehicle

Apparatus for detecting collision of a motor vehicle, carried by the vehicle and adapted to produce an electrical signal upon the collision of the vehicle to actuate occupant protection systems. The collision detecting apparatus comprises a rotational member in which the center of gravity is shifted from it's rotational axis so that collision energy applied thereto upon the collision of vehicle is converted into rotational energy of the rotational member, to actuate a contact device for producing the electrical signal. The apparatus is characterized by a simplified and small-sized structure, reliable in operation and generation of the collision signal.

Collision detecting apparatus for motor vehicles

A collision detection device in which a column-shaped member with a contact spring is solely permitted to be moved only in the predetermined direction regardless of the direction of the deflection of a mass and usually holding the mass on one end thereof. The contact spring serves as a connector between two fixed contacts.

There is provided a collision detecting system for an occupant protector comprising at least two terminals, a weight, a spring mechanism arranged between the terminals and adapted to function to change on-off state between the two terminals when an acceleration or deceleration caused by a collision exceeds a predetermined value, and biasing means for biasing the weight to contact with the spring mechanism. The collision detecting system of this invention is suited for installation on both large and small vehicles.

Collision detecting switch with rectilinearly movable weight sensors

There is provided an ignition circuit for a vehicle occupant protecting system whereby in case of a collision a heating element such as a filament is ignited to actuate the occupant protecting system. Switch means is connected in parallel with the heating element and another switch means is connected in series with the parallel circuit of the heating element and the first switch means, whereby when at least one of said switch means is damaged, the ignition of the filament is rendered impossible.
