A composite material for an absorbent article and a method for manufacturing said composite material, said composite material being obtained by causing an absorbent material to adhere by electrostatic interaction to a substrate material, the surface of the absorbent material being positively or negatively charged in a prescribed solvent selected from among a nonpolar organic solvent, a polar organic solvent, and a water/polar organic solvent mixture; and the surface of the composite material being charged to an electrical charge opposite to that of the surface of the substrate material, in the prescribed solvent. The substrate material has a fiber substrate or a plastic substrate, and a polyelectrolyte layer provided on the surface layer; and/or the absorbent material has an absorbent-particle substrate or an absorbent fiber substrate, and a polyelectrolyte layer provided on the surface layer.

Composite material for absorbent article, and method for manufacturing thereof

A multilayer nonwoven fabric includes a first fiber layer and a second fiber layer laminated and arranged on a first surface of the first fiber layer. A plurality of groove portions are formed along a prescribed direction in a shape depressed in a thickness direction of the multilayer nonwoven fabric. A plurality of raised ridge portions are formed adjacent to the plurality of groove portions in a shape projected in the thickness direction. The basis weight of the raised ridge portion is greater than the basis weight in regions, which include the bottoms of the groove portions. The second fiber layer including each of the plurality of raised ridge portions is in such a shape that a surface, on the side of the first fiber layer, of the second fiber layer is projected in the same direction as the direction in which the second surface of the first fiber layer is projected.

Multilayer nonwoven fabric and method of manufacturing the same

A nonwoven sheet for use in absorbent articles such as disposable diapers which is capable of reducing the range of surface diffusion of, and reducing re-adhesion to the skin of, highly viscous fluid excretion. The nonwoven sheet has mutually perpendicular longitudinal, transverse and thickness directions, and has in the aforementioned thickness direction a front surface and a back surface opposite thereof. Ridges and grooves are formed alternately so as to extend in parallel in the aforementioned longitudinal direction and so as to form repeated undulations in the aforementioned transverse direction. The nonwoven sheet has a bottom surface which, when the aforementioned nonwoven sheet is placed on a horizontal surface with the back surface (opposite of the front surface in contact with the skin of the wearer) down, is the surface that contacts the aforementioned horizontal surface. On the back surface of the aforementioned grooves are formed in the aforementioned longitudinal direction alternately areas where the height from the bottom surface is relatively high and parts corresponding to the bottom surface. Openings are formed at least in the areas where the height from the bottom surface is relatively high, and a space is provided below said openings.

A liquid-pervious fibrous non-woven fabric includes staple fibers made of thermoplastic synthetic resin fused together which is formed on its upper surface with a plurality of ridges, and a plurality of grooves extending in parallel in a longitudinal direction. The ridges and grooves are arranged alternately in a transverse direction. On the upper surface, some of the staple fibers extend across the ridges to the adjacent grooves on each side of the ridges and are, in the respective grooves, fused to the staple fibers of a different type from the former staple fibers.

Liquid-pervious fibrous non-woven fabric

An absorbent article comprising nonwoven fabric having convex and concave surfaces, and that allows liquid such as excreta and the like to permeate quickly. A sanitary napkin has a plurality of raised ridge portions and groove portions in a top sheet member. The fiber density of the side edge portions of each of the plurality of raised ridge portions in the thickness direction of the nonwoven fabric is substantially uniform, and is higher than the average fiber density in the raised ridge portions. The fiber density of the central portion between both the side edge portions of each of the plurality of raised ridge portions is substantially uniform in the thickness direction of the nonwoven fabric, and is lower than the average fiber density in the raised ridge portions.

Absorbent article

The present invention provides an absorbent body containing absorbent fibers in which fiber orientation is mainly adjusted, and fiber basis weight and shape are additionally adjusted. The absorbent bodyof the present invention is an absorbent body containing absorbent fibers, a plurality of low fiber basis weight regions formed continuously in the first direction with a fiber basis weight that is less than an average fiber basis weight of the absorbent body, and a plurality of high fiber basis weight regions, formed along and on both sides of the low fiber basis weight regions in relation to the second direction perpendicular to the first direction, with a fiber basis weight that is greater than the average fiber basis weight of the absorbent body. The content of longitudinally oriented fibers in the fibersmaking up the high fiber basis weight regions is greater than that of laterally oriented fibers, and the content of longitudinally oriented fibers in the fibersmaking up the low fiber basis weight regions is greater than that of laterally oriented fibers.

It is an objective of the present invention to provide a nonwoven fabric prepared so as to be able to rapidly transfer a predefined liquid. The nonwoven fabric is formed by jetting a fluid, which consists mainly of gaseous matter, to a fiber websupported from beneath by a predefined breathable support member, from an upper surface side in order to move fibers in the fiber web. A number of groove portionsand a number of convex portionsare formed on a jetted area of the nonwoven fabric in the direction in which the area is extended, and the fiber density of the groove portionsis less than the fiber density of the convex portions

A method of manufacturing a multilayer nonwoven fabric includes a supporting step of arranging on a predetermined surface of a permeable supporting member a multilayer fiber aggregate, a moving step of moving the multilayer fiber aggregate supported on the permeable supporting member in a prescribed direction by a predetermined moving device, and a spraying step of spraying a fluid onto the multilayer fiber aggregate moved in the prescribed direction in the moving step from the second surface by a predetermined spraying device.

The present invention provides a nonwoven fabric of which at least one of fiber orientation, fiber density, and basis weight is adjusted, and in which at least one of a predetermined groove portion, an opening, and a protrusion is formed, a manufacturing method for the nonwoven fabric, and a nonwoven fabric manufacturing apparatus. The nonwoven fabric manufacturing apparatus of the present invention manufactures a nonwoven fabric of which at least one of fiber orientation, fiber density, and basis weight is adjusted, or in which at least one of a predetermined groove portion, an opening, and a protrusion is formed by blowing fluid mainly containing gas onto a fiber web which is formed in a sheet shape, and which is in a state where at least a portion of the fibers constituting the fiber aggregate has a degree of freedom.

Nonwoven fabric, nonwoven fabric manufacturing method, and nonwoven fabric manufacturing apparatus

A nonwoven fabric that is not easily damaged during use is provided. A fiber web supported by a predetermined supporting member from the lower face side is blown with fluid, mainly composed of gas, from the upper face side of the fiber web to move fibers that constitute the fiber web, thereby forming at least a plurality of open areas. The nonwoven fabric includes a plurality of open areas continuously formed along a predetermined direction with a predetermined interval and a plurality of joining portions, each of which are formed between the open areas adjacent to each other in a predetermined direction.

Nonwoven fabric has a plurality of groove portions continuously formed along a predetermined direction, and a plurality of raised ridge portions formed continuously along the groove portions, each adjacent to the groove portions. The basis weight is the least, and the content percentage of laterally-oriented fibers is high, and the content percentage of longitudinally-oriented fibers is low at the groove portions of the nonwoven fabric. Sides at the raised ridge portions are formed so that their basis weight is the greatest, and the content percentage of the fiber oriented toward a longitudinal direction is high.

A plurality of open portions is formed by blowing fluid mainly composed of gas from the top side of a fiber web onto the fiber web supported from the bottom side thereof by a supporting member, and moving fiber constituting the fiber web. The nonwoven fabric is formed with the plurality of open portions continuously formed at predetermined intervals along a predetermined direction and a plurality of joining portions formed between the open portions adjacent thereto in a predetermined direction.

A surface material for an absorbent article includes a fibrous web formed by thermally bondable component fibers bonded together under the effect of a hot blast and has a hot blast-exposed surface and a surface opposite to this hot blast-exposed surface. The fibrous web includes, in turn, a first layer lying on the side of the hot blast-exposed surface and having a buffering function to alleviate an influence of the hot blast upon the surface opposite to this hot blast-exposed surface, and a second layer lying on the side opposite to the hot blast-exposed surface.
