A cooling water temperature of a fuel cellis detected by a sensor. Based on the outside air temperature, a first threshold temperature and a second threshold temperature lower than the first threshold temperature are calculated. When it is judged that the cooling water temperature is lower than the first threshold temperature and higher than the second threshold temperature, first warmup processing is performed. When it is judged that the cooling water temperature is lower than the second threshold temperature, second warmup processing with an amount of heat generation greater than the first warmup processing is performed.

Fuel cell system and method of controlling fuel cell system

A cooling water control valve device includes a housing and a valve. The housing includes an inside space, an attachment surface, at least one inlet port, and at least one outlet port. The attachment surface is in contact with an outer wall of the engine. The valve is disposed in the inside space to control communication between the at least one inlet port and the at least one outlet port by rotating. The housing includes a housing body that defines the inside space therein and a bypass passage forming member that defines at least a portion of a bypass passage. The bypass passage bypasses the valve and fluidly connects the at least one inlet port and the inside space. The housing is attached to the engine such that the attachment surface comes into contact with the outer wall of the engine.

When determining that electric power suppliable from a secondary battery to an air compressor is less than a lower limit of an acceleration maintaining-electric power of the air compressor, a voltage control device of a fuel-cell vehicle maintains a state where electric power generated by a fuel cell is consumed by an electric power drive, and supplies the electric power consumed by the electric power drive to the air compressor when a vehicle acceleration request is made.

A fuel cell system for a vehicle includes: a fuel cell; a plurality of loads that consumes power generated by the fuel cell and includes a vehicle driving motor; a secondary battery configured to be charged with excess power when an amount of power generated by the fuel cell is greater than an amount of power consumed by the loads and to discharge shortage power when the amount of power generated by the fuel cell is less than the amount of power consumed by the loads; and a control unit configured to control the amount of power generated by the fuel cell such that an amount of charging-discharging power of the secondary battery is maintained at a predetermined value.

Fuel cell system for vehicle and control method thereof

On a start of a fuel cell system, (i) when the temperature of a high-voltage secondary battery obtained from a temperature sensor is higher than a predetermined reference value, a controller of the fuel cell system is configured to set an output voltage on a step-down side of a DC-DC converter to a higher voltage than a voltage of a low-voltage secondary battery and subsequently start an FC auxiliary machine using electric power from the high-voltage secondary battery. (ii) When the temperature of the high-voltage secondary battery obtained from the temperature sensor is equal to or lower than the predetermined reference value, on the other hand, the controller of the fuel cell system is configured to set the output voltage on the step-down side of the DC-DC converter to a lower voltage than the voltage of the low-voltage secondary battery and subsequently start the FC auxiliary machine using the electric power from the high-voltage secondary battery.

A fuel cell system is equipped with a fuel cell and a secondary battery. This fuel cell system is equipped with a recordation unit that records a charge-discharge history of the secondary battery, a prediction unit that predicts restriction on an output of the secondary battery based on the charge-discharge history recorded by the recordation unit, and an output control unit that starts power generation by the fuel cell prior to a timing of restriction on the output of the secondary battery, when the prediction unit predicts restriction on the output of the secondary battery and the fuel cell is in an intermittent operation state.

Fuel cell system and control method for the same

A resin gear comprises a rim in an outer peripheral part of a plate, teeth provided on an outer periphery of the rim, a boss provided in a central part of the plate, and a circular rib between the boss and the rim. The resin gear is manufacturable by injection molding that a molten material is injected into a cavity through a plurality of gates arranged at almost equally spaced intervals circumferentially on a forming portion for the circular rib in a direction perpendicular to a side of the plate. The resin gear includes a plurality of inner thin-wall portions on the plate between the circular rib and the boss and a plurality of outer thin-wall portions on the plate between the circular rib and the rim, each of the inner thin-wall portions and the outer thin-wall portions being symmetrically shaped with respect to the radial line passing through each gate corresponding point.

In an embodiment, conductance of electricity to a heating element () for heating a throttle valve () of an automobile engine and a peripheral section thereof is performed only during a period wherein this heating can be performed effectively. Specifically, a controller () receives an output signal from an air flow sensor (), and when a quantity of intake air is equal to or less than a predetermined 'intake air quantity criterion for heating', conduction of electricity to the heating element () is carried out. Conversely, when the quantity of intake air is greater than this 'intake air quantity criterion for heating', conduction of electricity to the heating elementis prohibited.

Device for controlling heating of a throttle valve of an internal combustion engine

An intake flow control device includes valve units, a drive shaft, and an actuator. The valve unit includes a housing defining an intake passage therein. A valve shaft is supported between side walls of the housing. The drive shaft connects and drives the valve shafts. The actuator is directly connected to the drive shaft so as to drive a valve mounted to the valve shaft to open or close the intake passage. The valve has a width defined between side ends of the valve, which is larger than a width defined between side walls of the intake passage located at an upstream side of the valve.

Intake flow control device for internal combustion engine

A throttle control apparatus comprises a throttle valve placed in an intake passage, a motor for driving the throttle valve, an electronic control unit (ECU) for controlling the motor, and a throttle sensor for detecting an actual opening degree of the throttle valve. The ECU determines that the throttle valve is frozen when the actual opening degree does not reach a target opening degree even after a driving time for driving the motor has exceeded a predetermined time, and then stores the actual opening degree at the time as an icing opening degree. The ECU supplies a driving duty to cause the motor to produce required driving torque for removal of icing and reverses the driving duty by open control, and controls the motor to bring an accumulated value of a deviation between the target opening degree and the icing opening degree to zero, thereby repeatedly swinging the throttle valve.

Throttle control apparatus for internal combustion engine

An electronically controlled throttle control apparatus prevents a throttle valve from malfunctioning due to deterioration in sliding resistance ascribable to abrasive dust at a sliding contact portion between a valve gear of a geared reduction device and a coil spring. The outer periphery of a spring inner periphery guide is provided with a plurality of groove portions as abrasive dust removing means for removing abrasive dust at least from a sliding contact portion between the outer periphery of the spring inner periphery guide and the inner periphery of a default spring, so that individual edge portions of the plurality of groove portions can rub the inner periphery of the default spring to scrape off abrasive dust from the inner periphery of the default spring and direct the abrasive dust into the plurality of groove portions.
