A cyclonic separator and a vacuum cleaner which efficiently separates dust, collect the dust without re-scattering it and make low noise are provided. In a primary cyclone portion, a primary swirl chamberswirls air containing dust sucked from a primary inlet, and thereby, separates a first dust and a second dust from the air containing dust to collect them respectively in a zero-order dust casewhich is provided at a side of the primary swirl chamberand communicates with a zero-order opening portionprovided at a side wall, and a primary dust caseprovided at a lower side of the primary swirl chamber. In a secondary cyclone portion, a secondary inletwith an opening area smaller than that of a primary outlet bodysucks air exhausted from the primary outlet body, a secondary swirl chamberswirls the first air to separate the second dust which is finer than the first dust from the first air to collect the second dust in a secondary dust caseprovided at a lower side of the secondary swirl chamber. With regard to the cyclonic separator with such a configuration, the zero-order dust caseis formed to cover at least a part of the secondary cyclone portion

Cyclone separator and vacuum cleaner

A dust collection unit includes a swirl chamber, dust collection chambers, a discharge pipe, an inlet pipe, a bypass inlet, and a bypass inlet airflow passage. The swirl chamber swirls, along a side wall, dust-containing air having entered from a primary inlet and a secondary inlet having a smaller opening area than the primary inlet, and separates dust from the dust-containing air. The dust separated by the swirl chamber is collected by the dust collection chambers. A discharge pipe has a discharge opening. The inlet pipe allows the dust-containing air to flow from the primary inlet into the swirl chamber. A bypass inlet is formed in the inlet pipe. The bypass inlet airflow passage allows the dust-containing air in the inlet pipe having entered from the bypass inlet to flow from the secondary inlet into the swirl chamber.
