The display device includes a pedestal having a planar pedestal main body to be placed on a placing object and a planar arm that is arranged in a standing manner having a specified angle against the pedestal main body, and a display portion that is installed to the arm in a swinging manner and has an image display portion. In the case where the center of gravity of the display portion is within a range of a projection surface of the pedestal, the swinging angle of the display portion can be optimally set.

Angle adjusting device for a display

A liquid crystal display apparatus for displaying an image on a liquid crystal cell through a liquid crystal driver driven by a predetermined number of bits by inputting image data in which one pixel is represented with a plurality of sub-pixels. The liquid crystal display apparatus includes: memory for storing information about an offset for converting gray level coordinates of a gamma characteristic spaced evenly according to the number of bits into gray level coordinates spaced unevenly; a gray level adjustment portion for performing a calculation on particular input sub-pixel data based on information about the offset stored in the memory; and a pseudo-gray-level-expansion portion for applying pseudo gray level expansion to the sub-pixel data calculated by the gray level adjustment portion. The sub-pixel data to which the pseudo gray level expansion is applied by the pseudo-gray-level-expansion portion is supplied to the liquid crystal driver to display the image on the liquid crystal cell.

Image display apparatus and method thereof

A white point adjusting apparatus is provided to adjust an achromatic color level for an input video signal including a plurality of color signals, and display an adjusted image on a liquid crystal module. This adjusting apparatus comprises: a first table for setting a white point by deciding an offset quantity of at least one color signal from a highest gray level for each color temperature; a second table for setting an offset quantity of the color signal to converge a halftone white point for each color temperature set by the first table; and a white point adjusting unit for adding the offset quantities set by the first and second tables and to the input video signal.

White point adjusting method, color image processing method, white point adjusting apparatus and liquid crystal display device

A liquid crystal display comprises an input for inputting a video signal from a host and a storage medium for storing the previous brightness level of the video signal input through the input. A determinator is provided for determining an output brightness level based on the previous brightness level stored in the storage medium and the next brightness level of the next video signal input to the input, so as to make the time integration quantity of a brightness change substantially equal to an ideal quantity of light in a stationary state with respect to the next brightness level. Further included are drivers for driving an image displaying liquid crystal cell based on the output brightness level determined by the determinator.

Liquid-crystal display, liquid-crystal control circuit, flicker inhibition method, and liquid-crystal driving method

To drive a liquid crystal panel without producing flickering or noise on a screen, an adder circuit 26 adds the noise component of the analog signal detected in a filter 24 to a reference voltage from a power supply 16, and a phase adjustment circuit 28 adjusts the phase of the reference voltage to which the noise component was added. A circuit 12 holds the analog signal and outputs it to comparators 14.sub.1 to 14.sub.n. The reference voltage from the circuit 28 is divided in resistors 18.sub.1 to 18.sub.n+1 and output to comparators 14.sub.1 to 14.sub.n as threshold voltages TV.sub.1 to TV.sub.n. The comparator 14 compares the input analog signal to the voltage TV, and outputs a predetermined signal to an encoder 20 if the analog signal is greater than the voltage TV. The encoder 20 converts the signal from the comparator 14 to a digital signal and applies it to the electrode of a liquid crystal panel.

Apparatus and method for driving liquid crystal

In order to drive a liquid crystal panel without causing flickering or noise on a screen, an analog signal (R) is input to sample and hold circuits SH through an amplifier 14. When the first half of the clock signals is input, the voltage values of the analog signal which are held in the corresponding circuits SH1 . . . SH(n/2) are added up in an adder 16, divided by n/2 in a divider 18, and output to a circuit SH(n/2+1). When the second half of the clock signals is input, the voltage values which are held in the corresponding circuits SH(n/2+2) . . . SH(n+1) are added up in an adder 16', divided (by n/2) in a divider 18', and output to a circuit SH(n+2). The outputs from the circuits SH(n/2+1) and SH(n+2) are summed in an adder 24 and divided by 2 in a divider 26. A driver circuit applies a voltage to the corresponding electrode of a liquid crystal panel according to the output from the divider 26.

A focus control circuit for a CRT includes a focus bias voltage setting device for setting a focus bias voltage, a bias voltage control device for controlling the focus bias voltage and the focus bias voltage setting device in response to control information, a first amplifier for amplifying a luminance setting voltage with an amplification factor determined by an amplification factor control voltage and for supplying the amplified luminance setting voltage to a transistor, and a resistor network and a second amplifier for dividing a voltage applied to a control grid and applying it to the first amplifier as a control voltage.
