A switch-operation-determining device provided with a determination circuit for determining whether a switch has been operated, wherein the determination circuit is provided with: a first resistor, a first diode, and a second diode serially connected in the stated order from the power-source side, such that current flows from the power source toward a ground; and a control unit for comparing the anode potential of the first diode and a threshold potential, and determining that the switch has been operated when the anode potential of the first diode is lower. Of the first diode and the second diode, it is the second diode that is connected in parallel with the switch.

Switch-operation-determining device

A structure is provided for installing in a motorcycle an anti-theft device capable of reporting its position by wirelessly transmitting at least identifying information utilizing the GPS or PHS positioning system. The structure includes a receptacle and an openable cover that can be locked to secure the receptacle, and the anti-theft device is installed in the receptacle. The receptacle can be a helmet box formed in the motorcycle and a cover that can be an openable and lockable motorcycle seat. The structure conceals the anti-theft device, protects it from vibration and invasion of rainwater, and can include a case with enhanced waterproofing capability in which the anti-theft device is accommodated so that an indicator thereof is visible through a transparent window.

The rear combination lamp is set closer to the storage box by providing left and right pairs of bulbs, and bulbs forming left and right access openings for performing maintenance of the bulbs on the lower box, and closing the access openings with lids respectively. Since maintenance work of the bulbs can easily be made from the inside of the storage box and the rear combination lamp may be set closer to the storage box, the rear portion of the vehicle may be formed compact in configuration even when a large rear combination lamp is disposed rearward of a large storage box. Therefore, the width or the entire length of the rear portion of the vehicle body is not increased, and thus the appearance and operability of the vehicle may be improved.

Vehicle rear structure

A theft detection mechanism is provided with a top ring which is depressed when a foreign object other than a key is inserted into a key inserting hole. A sensor is provided for detecting that the top ring is depressed. A top ring is inevitably pushed down when a foreign object other than a key is inserted into a key inserting hole to activate the sensor, thereby reliably detecting a stealing action. Moreover, the structure of a theft detection mechanism is made simple to reduce the cost thereof.

Theft detection mechanism and anti-theft device for vehicle

A vehicle main switch includes a moving member with a movable contact, the moving member being detachably fitted to a crankshaft. A terminal is slidably contactable with the movable contact. The terminal is supported by and extends through an insulating plate. A cover is provided to cover the terminal. The moving member is fitted to the crankshaft so that the moving member, the insulating plate and the cover can be turned together through a predetermined angle in a direction of rotation of the crankshaft when the moving member is detached from the crankshaft. The cover includes a window through which a wiring coupler may be detachably coupled to the terminal.

Vehicle main switch

A protector block is movable in a direction in which a key K can be inserted, and first engaging portions which engage each other when the protector block is pushed in are formed between the protector block and an outer lock cylinder. A crankshaft is movable in the direction in which the key K can be inserted, and second engaging portions which engage each other when the crankshaft is pushed in are formed between the crankshaft and the outer lock cylinder. When an object in place of a key is inserted into a key insertion hole and attempts are made to forcibly turn the object while pushing the object, the first engaging portions between the protector block and the outer lock cylinder engage each other, preventing the crankshaft from being turned. When attempts are made to turn an inserted object while pulling the object, the second engaging portions between the crankshaft and the outer lock cylinder engage each other, preventing the crankshaft from being turned. In combination with tumblers preventing the crankshaft from being turned, the above structure makes it highly difficult to unlock the handle lock device.

Handle lock device

A protector block is constructed so as to be urged in a key extracting direction and movable in a key inserting direction and is provided with radially outwardly projecting engaging portions which come into engagement with an outer lock cylinder when the protector block is pushed in. The overall length in the key inserting direction of the protector block can be shortened and hence it is possible to construct a handle locking device in a compact shape. Further, in the case where the protector block is fabricated by sintering, the green compact density in powder molding can be made more uniform because it is possible to shorten the length in the key inserting direction.

Handle locking device

An electric component for use in a motor vehicle has a casing accommodating an electric circuit therein, and a terminal holder mounted in the casing in covering relation to the open end thereof and supporting electric terminals from the electric circuit for connection to wires. The terminal holder has a tubular member projecting outwardly from the casing and vent holes defined in the tubular member for communication between the space in the casing and the exterior thereof. The tubular member is covered with a cover which provides communication between the vent holes and the exterior only when there is a pressure difference developed between the space in the casing and the exterior thereof.
