There is provided a steering wheel to make it possible to install a covering member on a rim section main body portion in a wide range and with a good external appearance. A steering wheel base section includes the rim section main body portion that configures a rim section. The rim section main body portion is provided with a groove along the rim section main body portion. The groove is provided with a first line-shaped groove and a second line-shaped groove that is less bent than the first groove. The covering member is wrapped around the rim section main body portion of the steering wheel base section. The covering member is provided with divergence covering sections disposed along the first groove with the first groove interposed therebetween. The covering member straddles the second groove at a position of the second groove and connects the divergence covering sections by a covering base portion.

Steering wheel

A steering wheel includes a core metal, a resin layer molded so as to cover a part of the core metal, a wiring including a base part covered with the resin layer so as to be integral with the part of the core metal and an extending part configured to be continuous to the base part and extend from the resin layer, a covering member deformably covering at least a part of the wiring, and an accommodating part provided in the core metal and configured to accommodate the part of the wiring together with the covering member.

An airbag includes: an airbag body formed in a bag shape with an occupant-side panel facing an occupant and an opposite-side panel facing a steering wheel in a deployed state; and a flow regulator arranged inside the airbag body and configured to regulate a direction of flow of gas supplied from an inflator. The flow regulator includes: a flow-regulator body arranged such that at least part of the flow-regulator body faces the inflator; fixed portions provided at mutually separated positions on the flow-regulator body and fixed to the opposite-side panel; and a notch provided between the fixed portions in a recessed shape toward a center of the flow-regulator body and forming a gas passage port between the notch and the opposite-side panel, the gas passage port being a port through which the gas supplied from the inflator flows.

Provided is a steering wheel which includes a spacer () having a first base portion () and a second base portion () which are respectively disposed on a front side and a rear side with a rim metal core portion () interposed therebetween and are engaged with each other to cover the rim metal core portion (), in which the first base portion () and the second base portion () are each divided into a plurality of portions at positions different from each other in a circumferential direction of the rim metal core portion ().

A steering wheel includes a steering wheel body including at least two insertion openings, and an airbag module including at least two hooks inserted into the insertion openings. The hooks are held by wires so that the airbag module is supported by the steering wheel body. Either the at least two hooks or the at least two insertion holes are provided with adjustment ribs which come into contact with the other ones of the at least two hooks and the at least two openings, thereby regulating the positions of the other ones, so as to receive the weight of the airbag module applied to the steering wheel body. Accordingly, a decrease in positioning performance of the airbag module is prevented, so as to regulate the position of the airbag module in the steering wheel body with high accuracy.

A cover for an airbag device includes: a cover body including an opposed part covering an airbag housed underneath, and a tear line provided on the cover body and splitting when the airbag is inflated; and a covering material covering the opposed part of the cover body. The covering material includes: a fragile portion provided on a back surface of the covering material and at least partly overlapping with the tear line; and a stitched portion, at least part of the stitched portion being located at a position overlapping with the tear line and connected to the fragile portion.

A base plate portiondirectly receiving face pressure of the airbag is provided with a steel platemade of a metal, and a stack portionhaving a resin layersmade of synthetic resin and overlapping both faces of the steel plate. It possible to uniformly generate stress on both faces of the steel platein contraction at the time of molding while ensuring sufficient strength against the expansion pressure of the airbag, so that it is possible to suppress deformation in a cooling process after the molding and dimensional stability is high. The peripheral wall portionis able to ensure sufficient strength even when it is integrally formed with each resin layerof the base plate portionin the form of a single layer.
