A medical system recommends a posture of a subject during a medical procedure. The medical system includes a processor and an output device. The processor determines suitable postures of the subject during the medical procedure based on at least one of subject information, including information on a posture of the subject obtained upon a predetermined movement by the subject and information on the procedure. The output device presents one or more of the suitable postures determined by the processor as recommended postures.

A scoring device includes an elongate shaft, a balloon disposed on a far side of the shaft and inflatable radially of the shaft by a fluid flowing into the balloon, at least one storage tube disposed along an outer surface of the balloon and having a storage lumen defined therein, and an elongate scoring wire storable in the storage tube and made of a harder material than the balloon. The storage tube is fixed to the balloon or the shaft, and an opening portion is defined in the storage tube to provide fluid communication between outer and inner circumferential surfaces of the storage tube along the storage lumen when the balloon is inflated. The scoring wire is movable in the storage lumen along a longitudinal axis of the storage tube.

A balloon catheter and method for manufacturing are disclosed in which the fracturing of the vicinity of a proximal opening portion formed by an inner shaft can be prevented. A distal side of an inner shaft included by a balloon catheter is disposed in a lumen of an outer distal shaft, and a proximal side of the inner shaft is disposed on an outer surface of an outer proximal shaft, and the inner shaft forms a proximal opening portion which opens on an outer surface side of the outer proximal shaft. The inner shaft has a first region and a second region disposed on a proximal side of the first region. The first region is fixed to the outer surface of the outer proximal shaft. A medical elongated body is disclosed, which includes a shaft having a lumen through which a contrast agent can flow; and a tubular structure portion which is provided at a distal portion of the shaft and has an insertion hole. The tubular structure portion includes an inner tube fixed to the distal portion of the shaft; an outer tube which is disposed radially outward of the inner tube and is liquid-tightly fixed to the distal portion of the shaft and a proximal portion of the inner tube; a space portion communicating with the lumen of the shaft between the inner tube and the outer tube, and an opening portion through which a contrast agent flows from the lumen into the space portion flows out.

The treatment method includes a disposition step of disposing a dilation portion that can be dilated and deflated, and a collection portion, which is capable of removing a secretion S secreted from a biological lumen from a living body, in a stenosed site occurring in the biological lumen; a dilation step of widening the stenosed site after the disposition step by dilating the dilation portion in the stenosed site after the disposition step; and a removal step of removing the secretion from the living body by a removal portion.
