A one-piece intraocular lens having an optic portion and a haptic portion, the optic portion being formed of a copolymer obtained by copolymerization of predetermined amounts of 2-&lsqb;2-(perfluorooctyl)ethoxy&rsqb;-1-methylethyl (meth)acrylate, 2-phenylethyl (meth)acrylate, alkyl (meth)acrylate and a crosslinking monomer, the haptic portion being formed of polymethyl methacrylate, a process for the production thereof, and a soft intraocular lens having an optic portion and a haptic portion formed of a soft material, the haptic portion having a bendable portion having specific functions, the one-piece intraocular lens being insertable into an eye through a small incision with the optic portion being bent, the soft intraocular lens permitting the prevention of the deformation of the soft optic portion caused by the shrink of a capsule when the soft intraocular lens is inserted into an eye.

Intraocular lenses and process for the producing molded-in type intraocular lenses

A one-piece intraocular lens made entirely of three-dimensionally crosslinked polymethyl methacrylate is prepared by selectively press-stretching a lens blank at a temperature of 125 to 140.degree. C. in those areas around the periphery of the central effective optic area and from which the haptic portions are formed rendering areas more robust and less prone to fracture while the central effective optic area is not press-stretched. The lenses are durable to YAG laser irradiation.

Process for the production of an intraocular lens

A one-piece intraocular lens made entirely of three-dimensionally crosslinked polymethyl methacrylate is described. The lens is made from a lens blank which is selectively press-stretched in those areas around the periphery of the central effective optic area and from which the haptic portions are formed rendering areas more robust and less prone to fracture while the central effective optic area is not press-stretched. The lenses are durable to YAG laser irradiation.

Siloxane-modified polyester resins are disclosed. These resins comprise a copolymer of a siloxane compound, which contains at least one active hydrogen atom, and a lactone compound. The copolymer is substantially free of unreacted siloxane compound. The siloxane-modified polyester resins are useful for the production of heat-sensitive recording material, magnetic recording media and release agents. Processes for the production of the siloxane-modified polyester resins are also disclosed.

A water and oil repellant contains a copolymer of a first vinyl monomer having a perfluoroalkyl group, a second vinyl monomer having a polyorganosiloxane chain and a third vinyl monomer having an isocyanate group or blocked isocyanate group as essential components. As an alternative, a water and oil repellant contains a copolymer of a first vinyl monomer having a polyorganosiloxane chain and a second vinyl monomer having an isocyanate group or blocked isocyanate group, in combination with a water and oil repellant compound having a perfluoroalkyl group.
