A composition improves mechanical strength (e.g., impact resistance and flexural strength), and achieves improved mass productivity by reducing a situation in which a strand fuzzes during extrusion. The composition includes a conjugated diene-based polymer (A), fibers (B), and a thermoplastic resin (C), the composition including the conjugated diene-based polymer (A) in a ratio of 0.05 to 30 parts by mass based on 100 parts by mass of the thermoplastic resin (C), and including the fibers (B) in a ratio of 3 to 150 parts by mass based on 100 parts by mass of the thermoplastic resin (C), wherein the conjugated diene-based polymer (A) includes at least one functional group selected from the group consisting of an alkoxysilyl group and an amino group.

A drive control unit alone can be replaced without detaching an electric power steering apparatus from a gear housing. A motor housing of an electric motor, which outputs assist torque to a steering wheel of a vehicle, and a drive housing of the drive control unit, which controls the driving of the electric motor, are coupled to each other at a mating surface in a surface to surface contact manner, and the drive housing and the gear housing are coupled with each other on the same axis. A location of connection, at which a power supply input terminal block of the electric motor and power supply bus bars of the drive control unit are connected to each other by us of screws, is arranged at a joint location at which the motor housing and the drive housing are joined to each other by screws.

Thermoplastic elastomer composition for core-back system foam injection molding and foam injection molding method using the same

A thermoplastic elastomer composition of the invention, formed by dynamically crosslinking a polymer composition including a rubber and an olefinic resin and having an average particle size of rubber particles within a specific range, shows an excellent balance of mechanical properties such as flexibility and elastic recovery, and a moldability. Also an inclusion of a (meth)acrylate resin and a hydrogenated diene polymer provides a composition particularly excellent in scratch resistance. Also an inclusion of a maleimide compound provides a composition particularly excellent in injection fusibility. Also an inclusion of an undenatured organopolysiloxane of a specific viscosity and a denatured organopolysiloxane provides a composition particularly excellent in initial slidability and durable slidability.

Thermoplastic elastomer composition and process for producing the same

An olefin thermoplastic elastomer sheet which has the same or similar rubber elasticity, flexibility and molding and processability as those of the conventional olefin thermoplastic elastomer sheets, and is good in mechanical properties and excellent in mar resistance in particular, and a production process thereof, and a laminate having a surface layer composed of this sheet. The olefin thermoplastic elastomer sheet according to the present invention is composed of an elastomer material comprising an olefin random copolymer formed by copolymerizing ethylene, an &#x3b1;-olefin having 3 to 10 carbon atoms and an unsaturated monomer having a functional group, and optionally a non-conjugated diene, and metal ions crosslinking the olefin random copolymer.

Objects of the present invention are to provide a method for molding polymers to be able to mold products each of which has an outer shape transferred accurately from the shape of the inside of a mold, exhibits high dimensional accuracy and is uniform in the thickness of its surface skin layer and the expansion ratio in its foamed inside. A molten polymeris injected into a cavityand simultaneously gas is pressed to the inside of the molten polymerto contact the polymer close to the surface of the mold, and then gas is exhausted while maintaining the shape inside the mold, to thereby mold a polymer formed product in which a surface skin layerand a foamed insidehaving cushioning property are formed in one piece.

An automotive molding, which is excellent in scratching resistance, has high gloss, and is excellent in weathering resistance. The automotive molding of the invention has a part composed of an elastomer material containing an olefinic random copolymer obtained by copolymerizing ethylene, an &#x3b1;-olefin having 3 to 10 carbon atoms and an unsaturated monomer having a functional group, and optionally a non-conjugated diene, and a metal ion for crosslinking the olefinic random copolymer.

The present invention relates to a thermoplastic elastomer composition having a three-dimensional network structure which is not formed by a chemical crosslinking and having an excellent elasticity recovery and flexibility, a foam having a highly closed cell, an uniform cell shape, an excellent elasticity recovery, flexibility and appearance, and a process for producing the same. A thermoplastic elastomer of the invention is obtained by mixing in a predetermined ratio an EPDM (1), a crystalline polyethylenic resin (2) and a block copolymer (3) having a crystalline ethylenic polymeric block and a block which is more compatible with said EPDM than with said crystalline polyethylenic resin together with an anti-aging agent followed by kneading in a pressurized kneader. A foam of the invention is obtained by adding 1 part by mass of a wetting agent to 100 parts by mass of the thermoplastic elastomer composition described above together with a foaming agent, agitating and then performing an extrusion foaming.

The thermoplastic elastomer composition in the present invention comprises an ethylene.&agr;-olefinic copolymeric rubber (A) whose intrinsic viscosity &lsqb;&eegr;&rsqb; determined at 135&deg; C. in decalin solvent is 3.5 to 6.8 dl/g, a mineral oil-based softener (B), an &agr;-olefinic crystalline polymer (C) whose degree of crystallinity is 50% or higher and an &agr;-olefinic amorphous polymer (D) whose melt viscosity at 190&deg; C. is 50,000 cPs or less and whose degree of crystallinity is less than 50%, and at least a part of a mixture containing 20 to 63% by mass of the (A), 35 to 78% by mass of the (B), 1 to 12% by mass of the (C) and 1 to 12% by mass of the (D), based on 100% by mass of the total of the components (A), (B), (C) and (D), is crosslinked.

An olefin thermoplastic elastomer containing an olefin random copolymer formed by copolymerizing ethylene, an &agr;-olefin having 3 to 10 carbon atoms and an unsaturated monomer having a functional group, and optionally a non-conjugated diene, and metal ions crosslinking the olefin random copolymer, has the same or similar rubber elasticity, flexibility and molding and processability as the conventional olefin thermoplastic elastomers, and has good mechanical properties, wear resistance, in particular scratch resistance.

Ethylene copolymer rubber composition

An ethylene-.alpha.-olefin-non-conjugated diene copolymer rubber composition which comprises two kinds of ethylene-.alpha.-olefin-non-conjugated diene copolymers, �the copolymers (A) and (B)!, copolymer (A) containing ethylidenenorbornene and either dicyclopentadiene or .alpha.,.omega.-diene having 8 to 20 carbon atoms in the main chain as the non-conjugated dienes, copolymer (B) containing ethylidenenorbornene as the non-conjugated diene, the weight ratio of the copolymer (A) to the copolymer (B) being 30/70 to 70/30, wherein the copolymer (A) has a relatively low molecular weight, a specific ethylene/.alpha.-olefin weight ratio and a specific non-conjugated diene content and the copolymer (B) has a relatively high molecular weight and a specific ethylene/.alpha.-olefin weight ratio. Said copolymer rubber composition, when highly foamed, shows no reduction particularly in low tensile stress, and is excellent in shape-retention during cross-linking and foaming, and in compression set and processibility.
