A seal attachment assembly for a vehicle sunroof comprises a seal including one of an outward extending protrusion and hook and a deflector body including the other of the protrusion and the hook. A cooperative relationship between the protrusion and the hook resists a movement of the seal away from the vehicle body. A double-sided adhesive tape secures a planar base portion of the seal to the vehicle body. A resilient lip extends outward from the seal in a direction away from the sunroof opening along an outer edge of the planar base portion. This resilient lip maintains an elastic engagement with the vehicle body to shelter the double-sided tape from exposure to elements. The protrusion extends outward from the seal along an inner edge of the planar portion in a direction toward the sunroof opening. A terminal end of the protrusion includes a rounded bulb section. An outer leg of the deflector body extends beyond the planar base portion of the seal. The outer leg terminates at an outward extending hook; the hook catches the rounded bulb of the protrusion of the seal.

A seal assembly includes a vehicle frame, a moveable panel connected with and moveable with respect to the vehicle frame, and a seal connected with the vehicle frame. The moveable panel is moveable between an open position and a closed position. The seal includes a seal body having an external surface including an ambient-contacting section that is in contact with ambient when the moveable panel is in the closed position. The external surface of the seal body also includes a moveable-panel-contacting section that is in contact with the moveable panel when the moveable panel is in the closed position. The ambient-contacting section can move from a first orientation when the moveable panel is in the closed position toward a second orientation as the moveable panel contacts the moveable-panel-contacting section and moves toward the closed position. Seal assembly for a motor vehicle

A seal assembly for an automotive vehicle is provided that includes a seal and a molding whereby the seal is attached to the molding and the molding is attached to a rear-quarter window. The seal includes a pair of perpendicular bases and a resilient arc portion joining the perpendicular bases. The molding includes a U-shaped base, which receives the rear-quarter window and a support member. The support member is attached to the seal in such a manner to prevent excessive deformation of the seal when the door is in a closed position.

A roof structure for a vehicle body includes a roof having a roof opening that is closed by a cover member. The roof structure comprises a frame member, a left side panel member and a right side panel member. The frame member is configured to frame the roof opening. The frame member supports the cover member. Each side panel member forms a part of the vehicle body and is adhesively secured to the frame member. A peripheral edge portion of each side panel member includes at least one channel adapted to allow escape of an adhesive disposed between the side panel member and the frame member for ease of assembly of the roof structure to the vehicle body.

A seal assembly for a sunroof of an automotive vehicle is provided that includes a seal and a bracket. The seal includes a front base and a separate rear base, both of which are attached to a bottom surface of the sunroof. The front base includes a lip integrally joined to a front portion of the front base that extends at an angle in the forward and downward direction. The bracket part is attached to both the front base and the rear base and includes a flange that extends in the angled forward and downward direction similar to that of the lip. The vertical length of the lip is longer than the vertical length of the flange such that the flange is adjacent to and behind the lip.

A wind deflector and sunshade stopper system for use with a vehicle having a sliding roof panel and a sliding sunshade disposed below the sliding roof panel. The stopper system includes a wind deflector in combination with a sunshade stopper. The wind deflector portion of the system, when installed on a vehicle, is movable between an operative position projecting above a sliding roof opening defined in a fixed roof of the vehicle, and a closed position disposed below the opening. The sunshade stopper portion of the system is adapted to be fixed to a vehicle body. One portion of the sunshade stopper contacts the wind deflector in the closed position thereof to inhibit movement of the deflector; and another portion of the sunshade stopper contacts the sliding sunshade in a closed position thereof to inhibit movement of the sunshade. The sunshade stopper may include an elastomeric cover disposed over a rigid base, and the wind deflector may further comprise: a pair of support arms at opposite sides thereof, respectively, for exclusively connecting the deflector to the roof frame for pivoting movement between the operative and closed positions thereof; and a height control arm provided on the wind deflector and projecting therefrom, the height control arm has a stopper which contacts the fixed roof of the vehicle in the operative position of the wind deflector for limiting a height to which the deflector projects above the sliding roof opening, and the arm stopper also protecting the height control arm from contact with the roof frame when the wind deflector is in the closed position thereof.
