Administering conferencing resources in a communications system comprising a plurality of user equipments and a server. A first user equipment transmits a first message to the server. The first message comprises a request for a resource configured for sustaining a conference call. The server allocates a network address identifying the resource and transmits a second message comprising the network address to the first user equipment.

Conferencing system

Embodiments provide an apparatus, method and software configured to modify a transmission control protocol packet so as to become a user datagram protocol datagram, or to modify a user datagram protocol datagram so as to become a transmission control protocol packet. An embodiment uses a mapping between TCP packet format, such as TCP wire packet format, and an UDP-encapsulated TCP packet format, such as UDP-encapsulated TCP wire packet format, allowing direct re-use of any TCP protocol implementation. TCP frames can be modified into valid UDP datagrams before being transmitted, and inverse modifications can be done when receiving datagrams from the network.

Method, apparatus and software for packet modification

Methods, apparatuses, computer program products and a system for enabling timer value handling are provided. Handling of timer values is enabled by creating a connection initiation message, placing into the connection initiation message a state keeping timer value, and sending the connection initiation message. Timer value handling is further enabled by receiving a connection initiation message, determining availability of state keeping timer adjustment on the basis of the connection initiation message, acquiring, in case state keeping timer adjustment is available, a state keeping timer value from the connection initiation message, creating a connection initiation response message, placing the state keeping timer value into the connection initiation response message, and sending the connection initiation response message.

Timer handling

A method for administering conferencing resources in a communications system comprising a plurality of terminals and a conference server, the method comprising: transmitting from a first terminal to the server a first message comprising a request for a resource capable of sustaining a conference call; allocating by means of the server a network address identifying a resource capable of sustaining the conference call; and transmitting from the server to the first terminal a second message comprising the network address.

Disclosed is a method and system to discourage a MITM attacker in a data communications system that includes client and a server. The method includes, in a Digest Authentication and Key Agreement (AKA) challenge sent to the client from the server, setting an 'algorithm' field to 'algorithm='AKAv1-HMAC-MD5'' for directing the client to use the HMAC-MD5 keyed hash function when producing Digest credentials; and using at least one of an AKA Integrity Key (IK) or an AKA Cipher Key (CK) in the keyed hash function.

Method of protecting digest authentication and key agreement (AKA) against man-in-the-middle (MITM) attack

A method of communication between a calling party in a first network and a called party in a second network is disclosed. The method comprises determining in the first network an address associated with the called party. The method also comprises determining, based on the address, if the called party is in a trusted network, and controlling the communication between the called party and the calling party in dependence on if the called party is in a trusted network.

A method of establishing a conference call in a communication network between a plurality of user terminals each having an identifier. The method comprising receiving a first list of identifiers corresponding to the user terminals with whom the conference call is to be established. Method and device for establishing a conference call between a plurality of user terminals of a communication network

A network system is proposed comprising a network control element and a communication device (UE) associated to a subscriber, wherein the communication device (UE) is adapted to send a registration message (A) including subscriber information to be protected and an integrity code (MAC), to the network control element, wherein the communication device (UE) is adapted to calculate the integrity code (MAC) by using a part or whole of the registration message (A) including the subscriber information to be protected, and the network element is adapted to verify the integrity code (MAC) included in the registration message. Also a case is proposed in which the integrity code is calculated in the network control element and verified in the communication device (UE). Furthermore, corresponding methods are proposed.

Integrity protection during initial registration of a subscriber in a telecommunications network

A network system is proposed comprising a first network control element in a visited network, a second network control element in a home network and a communication device (UE) associated to a subscriber, wherein the first network control element is adapted to perform a first authentication (A) of a roaming subscriber requesting authentication, and the second network control element is adapted to perform a second authentication (A) of the same subscriber. By this measure, both network control elements are able to verify that the authentication was performed correctly. Also a corresponding method is proposed.

System and method for authentication of a roaming subscriber

The present invention is a system and method which provides authentication for data services for at least one UE () using common authentication information based upon information stored in a HSS () of a home network () of the at least one UE for multiple protocols. At least one proxy server () stores authentication information for each of the protocols which may be used to provide data services to the at least one UE. Authentication of the protocols available to the least one UE uses the authentication information stored at the at least one proxy server obtained from the protocol used in the home network of the at least one UE.
