An end-to-end path can be set without providing a hierarchy in a control device of a multi-domain network. A path setting system () includes an orchestratorand a control device (). The orchestrator () generates path candidates corresponding to a line of domains through which paths that are candidates for a path pass and transmits the path candidates to control devices () of domains through which the path candidates pass to request setting of the path. An IC card has a communication unit, a storage unit, and a controller. The communication unit communicates with an external apparatus. A communication buffer for communication between the communication unit and the external apparatus is set in the storage unit. If the size of a buffer used in communication is designated by the external apparatus, the controller sets a receive buffer that stores reception data and a transmit buffer that stores transmission data in the communication buffer, and notifies the external apparatus of the size of the set receive buffer and the size of the set transmit buffer.

According to an embodiment, a smart card includes a communication section, a generation part, a first record section and an erasure section. The communication section transmits and receives data with the external device. The generation section generates a session key according to the command which is received by the communication section and requires generation of a session key. The erasure section erases the session key when a holding period of the session key stored in the first record section exceeds a threshold.

The first command processing module performs a process corresponding to a first command received from the external device. The determining module determines whether a second command is contained in a data portion of the first command. The second command processing module performs a process corresponding to the second command if the determining module determines that the second command is contained in the data portion of the first command. The response processing module sets a processing result of the second command executed by the second command processing module in the data portion of the response indicating a processing result of the first command executed by the first command processing module and transmit the same to the external device.
