Systems, video cameras, and methods for predictive adjustment of multi-camera surveillance video data capture are described. A plurality of networked video camera is deployed with known spatial relationships and non-overlapping fields of view among cameras. When a video event is detected from video data for one of the video cameras, a video capture update message is selectively sent to other video cameras to modify their video capture operations. For example, an object detected by one camera may trigger adjustment of video capture operating parameters for cameras in a direction of travel of the object before it has entered the field of view of those other cameras.

Predictive adjustment of multi-camera surveillance video data capture

Early detection of Room Temperature Data Retention (RTDR) phenomena in programmed metablocks of data storage devices. In one embodiment, a memory controller includes a memory interface configured to interface with a non-volatile memory and a controller. The controller is configured to program a metablock of the non-volatile memory. Programming the metablock includes assigning the metablock to one of a plurality of thermal region tags ('TRTs') associated with a respective one of a plurality of thermal regions. Each TRT is associated with a respective set of read parameters. The controller is further configured to perform a periodic TRT update to detect a RTDR phenomena associated with the metablock. In response to determining that the threshold associated with the detection of a RTDR phenomena has been exceeded, the controller reassigns the metablock to a different one of the TRTs.

Early detection of room temperature data retention phenomena

Aspects of a storage device including a memory and a controller are provided. The memory includes a plurality of non-volatile memory packages coupled to the switch, with each non-volatile memory package including a plurality of non-volatile memory dies. The controller monitors a wear level of each non-volatile memory package in the plurality of non-volatile memory packages connected to the controller via the switch. The controller determines whether a wear level of a first non-volatile memory package of the plurality of non-volatile memory packages exceeds a wear level threshold. The controller also can transfer data from the first non-volatile memory package to a second non-volatile memory package of the plurality of non-volatile memory packages through the switch based on the wear level of the first non-volatile memory package exceeding the wear level threshold. Thus, the controller may facilitate a persistent switch-based storage controller, thereby improving memory capacity of the storage device.
